mas tree was decorated for the
occasion. Hymns were sung ac-
companied by the organist, Mrs.
Frank Riley. Scripture lesson was
read by Joyce Brown, followed
with prayer by Mr. Jewitt; Rev.
Funge read three poems and bet-
ween each poem the members of
the primary, kindergarten and
junior classes, seniors and Bible
class and CGIT laid their gifts
under the tree. Rev. Funge gave
his sermon on the Road to Beth-
lehem in story form of an orphan
boy.

Thursday afternoon when Mrs,
W. Turnbull, President of the
WMS and Mrs.‘Ken McDonald,
President of WA were in charge.
Hymn 58 "It cane upon the Mid-
night Clear" was sung with Mrs.
David Watson at the piano. The
customs of Christmas were given
by Mrs. K. McDonald and Mrs. A.
McDonald expressed the story by
reading St. Luke 2: 1.16. Mrs. W.
Turnbull related that Christmas
in Germany typifies the Festival
of the Family. Mrs. Ron Bennett
and Joan brought in the Advent
Wreath. During the Christmas
Festival hymn 53 "Silent Night,
Holy Night" and hymn 55 "Joy
to the World" were sung. Heather
McDonald, Ross Mitchell, Ricky
McDonald, Joan Bennett and
Mrs. W. Bewley brought in the
candles and lighted them and
Mrs. Bewley offered prayer.

Oauld died in Guelph on Sunday
at the home of her daughter Dr.
Flora Little. Mrs. Goold was a
native of Kipped, the former
Margaret Ann Mellis, she and
her husband went to Formosa in
1.892. Mr, Gault died in 1023, She
continued her missionary work
until 1939 when she came to
Guelph to live with her slaughter,
She was active in various organ-
izations or Chalmers United
Church, Surviving are two other
daughters, Miss Greta Gould in
Formosa, and Mrs, 0, H. Stevens
in England,
The body was at the home or

lin Colleens was held at the home
of Gayle Lannin on Saturday af-
ternoon.
