their counties,
Win. Tilden, newly elected Pre.
sident of the O,F.A. was guest
speaker and brought a strong
message of optimism. What we
cannot do individually we can do
by working together.
For at least some time to some
we have mastered the art of pro-
duction, it is now urgent that we
consolidate our position by mast-
ering the problems of marketing
and distributing our food prod-
ucts, After making a tour of
Great Britain Mr, Tilden is con-
vinced that -we can expand sales
to that country as well as to
many other needy countries that
are not blessed with an abund-
ance of wholesome food,
Mr's. Gordon Greig, chairman
of Canadian Farm Radio Forum
outlined the program for this
area and urged widespread par-
ticipation. Reports were also re-
ceived from the various affiliated
Commodity groups with Bob Me -
Gregor reporting for the beef pro-
ducers, Carl Hemingway, for the
poultry producers, Horace Del-
bridge,
eibridge, for the cream producers
and Lorne Rodges for the Dairy
Co-Ordinating Board.
Agr, Rep. Doug Miles spoke
briefly and conducted the elec-
tion of Officers.
Ross Love, County Pres. of the
IIog Producers, outlined the ac-
tivities of that organization and
introduced Chas. McInnis, Ont-
ario Pres.
Mr. McInnis outlined the pro-
posed Farmers Allied Meat En-
terprise known as "Fame". He
pointed out that for every $18.00
that farmers have invested in
Agriculture there is only $1.00
invested in the Processing In-
dustry. It should be easy for the
farmers to invest this extra $1.
in a processing and sales organiz-
ation that would be under their
own control, There are markets
awaiting our product that are at-
tractive to a selling organization
whose objective is to increase
the returns to the Producer.
