ening, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Ro-
bert Chaffe (nee Connie Corbett)
of Mitchell, who were married

Bride Honored
A large number of neighbors
and friends gathered at S.S. 1,
Tuckersmith on Friday evening
in honor of Mrs. Russell Hooey
(nee Marion Pepper) who was
married recently. Mrs. Stanley
Mitchell was chairlady for the
evening. Mrs, Harold Parker fa-
vored with a reading entitled "I
couldn't help laughing." Miss De-
anna Forrest played a piano solo
entitled "It is no Secret" accom-
panied by Miss June Munn, at the
piano. Mrs. Hooey was presented
with a shower of miscellaneous
gifts. Mrs. Murray Traquair read
the address. Arranging the event
were Mrs, Murray Traquair, Mrs.
Herb Karcher, Mrs. Stanley Mit-
chell, Mrs. Harold Parker, Mrs.
Wilmer Dalrymple, Mrs. Ross
Forrest and Mrs. Ken MacLean,
Refreshments were served and
a social boor enjoyed.
Mrs. IIarvey Keyes spent a few
days last week with relatives in
London,
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Voth and
Jim of Detroit were recent visit-
ors with the Tatter's mother, Mrs.
Lou Simpson.
Miss Gwen Chapman of Lon-
don is holidaying with her par-
ents, Mr. and. Mrs. Lorne Chap-
man and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bell were
recent visitors with their daugh-
ter, Mrs. Guy Bedard in London.
Mr. Don MacLaren of the staff
of the Bank of Montreal, Inger-
soll, is holidaying with Mr. and
Mrs. Archie MacGregor.

The death occurred Tuesday
night in Stratford General Hos•
pital, where he had been a pa-
tient for the past six weeks, of
Carl George Eisler, 66, a lifelong
resident of Logan Township, He
was the son of the late Mr. and
Ml's, Fred Eisler; his mother was
the former Christina Hillebrecht
and was born on the home farm,
lot 20, con. 7. Logan, on May 6,
1894. In 1928 he married Della
Wietersen, who survives. He was
a member .of First Lutheran
Church, Logan Township. Be-
sides his wife, he is survived by
two sons, Bruce at home, and
Hugh in Hamilton; one daught-
er, Mrs, Earl (Carolyn) Paulen,
Fullerton Township; one broth-
er, Edwin Eisler, Hamilton; two
sisters, Mrs. John (Frieda) Dietz,
McKillop Township and Mrs. Ed-
win -(Clara) Rose, Ellice Town-
ship,
TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO

November 1935
Isaac Hudson was named act-
ing reeve of Seaforth, succeed-
ing the late W. W. Crozier.
Thomas Dickson vacated the
flour mill elevator's, the mill hav-
ing been purchased by Mr. Tur-
geon.
The farm home of Harvey Me-
Liwain was burned Saturday ev-
ening, on the third concession of
McKillop. The McLlwains came
here last spring from Oakville.
Stewart Scott of Hamilton
visited his aunts, the Misses
Brine, and attended the unveil-
ing of the war memorial at
Brussels.
Mrs. C, Atkinson is spending
the winter in Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Keys of
Stanley, moved to their new
home in Egmondville. Mr. and
Mrs. D, J. Stephenson moved to
Bayfield.
The bridal couple, Mr, and Mrs.
Elmore Stephenson, have return-
ed home from their wedding trip.
Dr. James Bell of Harrisburg,
Penn., spent a few days at Hen -
sail.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Wren have
moved into Hensall from Chisel-
luirst.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Gottschalk vis-
ited friends at Dashwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stark of
Welland visited friends in Sea -
forth.
Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Knechtel
observed their 46th wedding an-
niversary.

Mr. Stafford Johnson, a writer
for the Beacon Herald, Stratford,
and Mrs, Johnson were the guest

Walter Rose, Brussels, suffer-
ed several fractured ribs when
a pig ran under the wheels of
his car while on the way to meet
the train at Belgrave.
Mr. A. Eleoat and daughters of
Tuckersmith have moved into
their home on John street, Mr.
and Miss Robb have moved to
High. street.
Reeve Elliott of Stanley, and
the provincial highways engineer
recently toured the township
roads and the latter declared the
roads wore among the best in
the 001inty,
J. H. Medd of IIullstt is moving
to Exeter, after spending fifty-
two years on the 7th concession.
Rev. Mr. Mess preached his
farewell sermon at St. George's
Church, Walton, on Sunday.
Peter Stewart has been appoin-
ted caretaker of Hensall school.
The wedding took place of
Miss Eta Jackson and Ross Mc-
Lean of Tuckersmith.
A pleasant reunion took place
at the Readman home, North
Alain street, when Queen's Univ-
ersity graduates now in Huron
and Perth counties, were guests
of Queen's grads on the staff of
Seaforth collegiate.
William Ruby, a familiar 'figure
in Seaforth, died at the home of
A. A. McLennan. He had lived
at the Commercial until it closed
and then stayed with Mr. Mc-
Lennan.
