Mr. and Mrs, 12d Boyce and Mr,
and Mrs. Russel Pringle spent an
enjoyable evening et the home of
Mr, and Mrs. Sohn Boyos atter
all three couples had supper at
Zurich celebrating Mr. and Mrs,
Ed Boyce's 23rd wedding anni-
versary.
Ron Williams of Vancouver ar-
rived in Malton by TCA on Fri-
day, Ron is spending three weeks
vacation with his parents, Mr, and
Mrs. Michael Williams.
BUSY BEAVERS
The second meeting of the Mc-
Killop Busy Beavers was held at
the home of Eleanor Keys, Satur-
day, Oat. 22nd. The meeting was
opened by singing the Institute
Ode followed by the 4-I1 pledge.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read and adopted. The Roll
Call was answered by what you
would approciate in a guest room.
The hostesses for the next meet-
ing will be Lynda and Mrs. Pap-
ple. Mrs. Scott talked to us on
"Entertaining a house guest". El-
eanor Keys and Janet McKercher
gave a demonstration on arrang-
ing flowers. An informal invita-
tion and an informal reply were
written by all club members. Mrs.
Papple discussed invitations and
replies. Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Pap-
p1e demonstrated packing a suit-
case correctly, Marguerite Scott
and Lynda Papple repeated the
demonstration. The roll call for
the next meeting is to be "The
type of reference file I Have cho-
sen". The Home Assignment is
to decide on the method of fil-
ing and purchase required mater-
ials for it. Begin collecting mater-
ials for files and work on record
book. The meeting was closed
with "God save the Queen". A
game was conducted by Amy
Stewart and Robe Doig. This was
followed by a delicious lunch,
WILLING WORKERS
The meeting of the Seaforth
Willing Workers was held on Oot.
18 at the home of Lois Scott. The
meeting opened with the 4-11
pledge. The roll call, What I
would appreciate in a guest room
was answered by 21 girls.
The next meeting is to be held
at the home of our assitsant club
leader, Mrs, Gordon Elliott on
Oct. 29. The topics, Hospital, A.
Family Pleasure, and entertain-
ing a house guest, were then dis-
cussed.

CROMARTY
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McKaig of
Vancouver are guests this week
with their cousins Mr. and Mrs.
Calder McKaig. They motored
from the coast and after visiting
with many friends in Ontario,
they expect to spend the winter
in Florida.
Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Scott and family
were Mr. and Mrs. Toni Colqu-
houn, Mrs. Eva Colquhoun and
daughter Miss Jean Colquhoun of
Statfa line and MTs. Colquhoun's
sister Mrs. H. De Forge of Win-
nipeg.
Mrs. M. Houghton, Miss Olive
Speare, Mrs. J. Kemp of Mitchell,
Messrs. Frank Stagg and Bob Mc-
Kellar attended a barber shop
quartette entertainment in Lon-
don on Saturday night.
Many of the Dalrymple clan and
other friends attended their an-
ual get together at Staffa Hall on
Friday evening.
Miss Ina Scott was home' from
Loudon over the weekend.
At the communion service on
Sunday three new members were
received into the congregation by
profession of faith: Miss Alice
Walker, Miss Joyce Kerslake and

Mr, and Mrs. K. McKellar visit-
ed with Mr. and Mrs. E. Allen at
Riverside Rest Home, Mitchell,
on Sunday, and also with Mrs,
Christina McKellar.
The annual thankoffering meet-
ing 01 the Marian Ritchie Even-
ing Auxiliary was held in the
basement of the church with Mrs.
Lloyd Miller presiding and open-
ing with meditation. Devotions
were led by Mrs. Bob Laing with
Mrs, John Templeman, Mrs, G.
Laing and Mrs. Frank Hamilton.
Mrs. Lloyd Miller led in prayer.
Reports were given by the secre.
tary and the treasurer. A splendid
topic entitled "facing Life with
Thankfulness" was given by Miss
Olive Speare. Sharen and Karen
Scott favored with a duet, "Have
a bit of Sunshine in your heart",
accompanied by Carol Ann Dow,
Mrs, Miller introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. D. B. Mackay
from Stratford. The theme of her
address was "We have to work
together if we are going to win
the world for Christ." Mrs, Cart-
er Kerslake thanked the speaker
and all those taking part in the
meeting.
The decorating committee, Mrs,
Frank I3amilton and Mrs. Gordon
Scott used colored leaves and
fall flowers in a very beautiful
arrangement, A delicious Lunch
was served under the direction of
Mrs. John Miller and Mrs, Harold
Parsons. The mooting closed with
prayer by Mrs. Lloyd Miller.

Mrs, Win. Wright, Seaforth,
spent the weekend with DIr. and
Mrs. Ross Scott,
Mrs. Jno. Cairns, Seaforth, vis-
ited with Mr, and Mrs. Har-
greaves on Sunday.

Anniversary Services were held
in the Brucefield United Church
last Sunday with a very large at-
tendance both morning and even-
ing. Special music by the choir,
in charge of Mrs, Jno. Murdoch,
the organist. At the morning' ser-
vice the choir were assisted by i

Jolly, Mr. Grant and Stewart
Triebnor of Exeter, who rendered
two very beautiful numbers. In the
evening Miss Gale Atwell of St.
Marys was the guest soloist. The
Rev. C. Winlaw of Hensall was
the speaker at both services.
Mr. Jack Broadfoo of Guelph
and Miss Jean Broadfoot of Lon-
don, spent the weekend with
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Broadfoot.

sail spent Sunday with Mr, and
Mrs, J. K. Cornish.
