drey Hackwell) at the Legion
Hall, Seaforth, on Friday evening.
A dance in the community hall

evening, Elgin Fisher's Orchestra
provided music, and proceeds to
go towards the hall,

fined to her home on account of

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Miller
were pleasantly surprised at the
Community Hall on Sunday even -
lug when members of the Cham-
ber of Commerce and their wives,
neighbors and relatives gathered
to celebrate their 25th wedding
anniversary. Progressive euchre
was played, prizes went to Mrs.
Norman Bennewies, Mrs. R. Shol-
dice. Ed Scherbarth, Mervin Dietz
and Ken Smith read the address.
Geo. Rock and Wilfred Ahrens
made the presentation of electric
frying pan, set of wrenches and
cash. Lunch was served.

Several hymns were sung with
Mrs. R. Sholdice pianist. Contests
were conducted by Mrs. Lloyd
Pfeifer and a dainty lunch was
served by the committee in
charge, Mrs, Manuel Bowerman,
Mrs. Lloyd Pfeifer, Mrs. R. Shol-
dice, assisting in serving were
Mrs. Martin Dietz, Mrs. George
Rock, Mrs. H. Rock, Mrs. Harold
Mogk, Mrs. Oscar Young, The

oldest lady present was Mrs. A.
Young, Logan, 79 years, and oldest

fall thankoffering meeting will
be held Nov, 10th commencing at
2 5111 and having as our guest
speaker, Mrs. H. Donaldson of
Seaforth. Walton group will serve
at this meeting. A nominating
' committee consisting of Mrs. 11,
Brown and Ml's, A, Searle were
appointed to bring in the slate of
officere at the next meeting.
Plans were completed for the
fowl supper to bo hold Nov. 2, The
Bible contest was taken from 2
Corinthians and conducted by
Mrs. F. Walters. Lunch hostesses
were Mrs, H. Brown, Mrs, W.
Bewley and Mrs, H. Travis.
Family Night
A successful family niglht was
held in the Walton community
hall last Friday evening. The
early part of the evening was
spent in playing progressive eu-
chre with the following as prize
winners: High ladies, Shirley
'rhnmer; low lady, Mrs, H. Wil-
liamson; high gent, Mr, Roy Ben -

regarding the course "The Third
Meal" which will be conducted by

Dennis, the date of the meetings
to be decided later. The laying of
the memorial wreath at the cen-
otaph at Brussels on Nov. 11 was
discussed. Lune') was served by
members of the Institute. Couven-
