Economic Survey
On Tuesday of this week four
member's of the executive of Mild-
1Vesteryl Ontario Development As-
sociation, and the manager, Mr.
Elmer Goebel, met with Hon. W.
M. Sickle, Minister of Planning
and Development in his Toronto
office and requested that the gov-
ernment give ennsideration to
making an economic survey of
the region, which includes the
four count les of waterloo, Welling-
ton, Perth and Huron. The idea
was to have gathered together all
possible information pertaining to
Population, schools, industry and
commerce. agriculture, water Sul]-
ply sewage, transportation etc.
which would provide the Associa-
"on. with a picture of how much,
and what kind, of development
might be expected, Also the prob-
lems that will have to be dealt
with in order to take rare of this
development and be able to make
recommendations to our munici-
palities as to action that could be
taken now to prepare for this de-
velopment, in the years to come.

during the summer" was answer-
ed by ten members and three vis.

closed with the Homemakers
Prayer. The remainder of the aft-
ernoon was spent quilting. A deli-
cious lunch was served by the

School at Dublin on Tuesday ev-
ening the OWL held their Sept.
meeting with a representative at-
tendance. Opening with Ike
League Prayer and hymn, MTh. F.
Horan, the president, presided.
Roll call was answered by the
officers and minutes of the previ-
ous meeting in June were read
and approved with the corres-
pondence by the secretary. A. fa-
vorable financial report was giv-
en by the treasurer. $63 were col-
lected for Rev. Father Peytans
Rosary Campaign. Mrs, Jloran
thanked all members for their
help and cooperation with the
lawn social and Dr. Ffoulkes
°peeing home. Mrs, F. Stapleton
gave a reading on "Friendly Vis-
iting". Final arrangements were
completed for the penny sale to
he held this month.
Rev. A, Durand of St, Peter's
Seminary, London, gave a short
and interesting talk 011 "Voca-
tions."
The Diamond Jubilee of the op-
ening of the Church to 1e held
October 10th and preliminary ar-
rangements were discussed by the
paetor Rev, It, Durand, with the
ladies. The meeting was adjourn-
ed and a social half hour was
spent playing bingo.
