The nirls of the CGIT presented Miss Ina Seott with a gift prior to her departure for London where she has gone to take a secretarial course. Mrs. Bessie McDonald and her granddaughters, Cheryl and Mary Beth of Mitchell spent the week end with Miss Olive Speare. Mrs. Calvin Hulley and daugh- ter Betts of Tilbury spent the holi- day oliday week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Ramsey. Mr. and Mrs. K. Many friends and relatives from this distriet attended the funeral of the late Montgomery Davis of Staffa which was held at the Whit- ney funeral home. Seaforth. on Monday. Burial was in Staffa cem- etery. Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Gardiner spent Sunday with Miss Doris Schwartz, Crediton. The September meeting of the WMS was held at the home of Mrs. T. L. Scott. Mrs. W. Harper presided and led in devotional ex- ercises. The last two chapters of the study book were reviewed by Mrs. T. L. Scott with Mrs. M. La - mond as her assistant. Roll call was answered by ten members. There was one visitor present, Mrs. K. M'Kellar read the Glad Tidings prayer. A splendid topic was given by Mics. Grape Scott, Mrs, M. Hou- ghton gave current events. Mrs. Harper closed the meeting with prayer. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Victor Fee were held frons the Bonthron Funeral Chapel, on Monday at 1:30 pan, conducted by Rev. 11, C. Winlaw, burial was in Exeter Cemetery.
