RURAL HYDRO TO MOVE
FROM MITOFIELL
Last Wednesday employees of
the Rural Ilydro working out of
Mitchell were informed that dur-
ing the next 17 months Ontario
Hydro plans to close down the
Mitchell operating area, to be
transferred to neighboring centres
by the end of next year.
While there are some 31 men
and girls on the payroll here it is
understood that none will lose a
job clue to the change -over.
Apparently there is a province -
wide .plan to cut out small local
arcus as a matter of economy,
Accounts will continue to be
collected by the Mitchell banks,
through whirl' most subscribers
pay their bills now.
The Mitchell area takes in Lo-
gan, Blanallard, Fullerton, Hib-
bert, MIcI{illop, Tttckersmtth and
East. and West Nissouri townships
and parts of Downie, Grey, Elmo,
and lalieo townships,
Most of the area will be taken
over by Stratford and Clinton area
offices. Sotne will go to. Ingersoll
area and ionto to Dorchester, At
the changeover, -boundaries be-
tween Stratford and Listowel ar-
eas will also be affected, --Mitchell
