took part in the Mankton Music
Festival recently, and the follow-
ing prizes were won: Boy's solo
9 and 10 years, Douglas Leon-
hardt, 1st with 86 narks and won
the trophy donated by the Monk -
ton W. I. Girl's solo 9 and 10 yrs.,
Beverley Sholdice, 2nd with 85
marks. Boy's solo 11 and over,
Richard Leonhardt, 2nd with 83
marks, Larry Kistner, 3rd with
82 marks. Junior Chorus, 1st with
85 marks and received the trophy
donated by the Gravel Ridge W.
I. Changed voices, Allan French,
let with 81 marks. Triple trio,

On Saturday evening a shower
was held for Mr, and Mrs. Gary
Sholdice (Barbara Clark) in the
Brodhagen and District Com-
munity hall. An address written
by firs, Free Herbert was read
by Don Wolfe and they were pre-
sented with a Chesterfield and
chair by Clare French and Clay-
ton Ahrens. Music for dancing
was supplied by Ciar'ettee Orche-
stra and lunch was served after
the midnight hour. A sum of mon-
ey was donated by the Brodhagen
Band of which the groom is a
member.

WILLIAM C. ELLACOTT
William Campbell Ellacott died
in London on Wednesday aged 83
years, He was a farmer in Grey
Township before retiring to Brus-
sels, He was a son of the late Wil-
liam and Margaret Campbell Ella-
cott. He was a member of Bros -
sole United Church where he was
an honorary elder, Ile is survived
by his wife, formerly Mary Anne
Pratt; four sons, Elmer, Brussels;
Clarence, Brant, Alta.; Howard,
Grey twp.; Geo., Paris; two dau-
ghters, 'Mfrs, Violet Smith, Sea -
forth; Mrs, Olnarles (Laura) Fis-
cher; 17 grandchildren and five
great grandchildren. The body
was at the D, A. Bann funeral
home, Brussels, where a service
was held Saturday at 2 p.m., con-
ducted by Rev. Lloyd Brown of
Brussels United Ohurch, Burial
was in Elma Centre Cemetery.
TWILIGHT MEETING
The annual twilight meeting of
the Huron County Holstein
Breeders will be held on Monday,
June 6th at Alvin Bottles near
Hayfield.
The guest speaker for the even-
ing is G. W. Montgomery, former
agricultural representative in Hu-
ron County, who is now with the
Canadian National Railways in
Toronto.
