FIRESIDE FARM FORUM
On Jan. 11 The Fireside Farm
Forum met at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Geo. Carter with 20 pre-
sent. The topic was "adjustment
through .price support policies".
We think price support program
cannot. ,he used to control ,produc-
tion to fit the market and at the
same time maintain adequate in-
come levels because of the wide
range in the ability of fanmers to
produce efficiently, it is better to
let supply and demand control
•the. prices.
2. Controlled :production by a.
farm. organization- i's the only al-
ternative to government control
of farm prices under surplus con-
ditions.
8. We do not think price sup-
ports should be :used. to slow
down the economic presse,e tend-
ing to fewer farms. The young
farmers starting need Price sup-
ports to help them. If price sup-
ports are high enough to benefit
Hie small farmer they will be
high enough to cause over produc-
tion by the larger :farmer. Mrs. D.
