A meeting of the electors of
the Township of Puekei'smitli
Will be held in the Town Hall,
Seaforth, on Monday, Dec, 28, for
the purpose of nominating oajxli-
dates for the offices of Reeve and
Councillors for 1960, and School
Trustees (2 to be elected) for
the years 1960 and 1961; Nomitr'
atione will bo received from the
hour of 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock in
the afternoon. In the event of
more being nominated than are
required to fill the positions an
election will be held on Monday,
Jan. 4th, 1960. Polis will be open
from 9 a.m. tp 6 p.m. at the fol-

Township of McKillop
A meeting of the electors of
the Township of McKillop will
be held at Winthrop on Monday,
Dec. 28, 1959, for the purpose of
nominating a Reeve and four
Councillors. Nominations will be
received from the hour of 1 o'-
clock to 2 o'clock in the after-
noon, In the event of more per-
sons being nominated than are
required to fill the office an elec-
tion will be held on Monday, Jan,
4, 1960. Polls will be open from
9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the follow-

The Constance W. A. and WMS
held their Christmas meeting at
the home of Mrs, B.. Brown on
Wed. Dec. 9th. •Mrs. L. Lawson
presided over the W. A. and open-
ed with a Christmas poem and
hymn 62. Alter the minutes were
read and business transacted the
meeting was turned over to WAIS.
Mrs. W. L. Whyte, vice pres., pre-
sided ana opened the meeting by
hymn 46. Mrs. Verne Dale read
the Christmas scripture from •St.
Luke. .Mss. Whyte followed with
prayer. Minutes of the last meet-
ing were read by the Sec., Mrs.
Riley. During the business com-
mittees were formed for the social
.for the !Mission Band and CGIT
which is to be held .Dec 28 in the
basement of the Church. Program
Committee: Mrs, B. Brown, Miss
Joyce Jewitt and Mrs. Don Buell-
anon; Lunch Committee, Mrs. 1'Ic-
L,iiwain, 'Mrs. E. Nott and Mrs. W.
Glousher. Olrristmas boxes were
planned for the rshutins.
The program consisted of Carol
singing after which Mr's. R. Mc-
Gregor gave a Christmas paper.

Joyce Jewitt .rendered a Christ-

The CGIT held a successful ba-
zaar after which Mn's. Brown and
assistants served lunch. Mrs.
Whyte moved a vote of thanks to
Mrs. Brown 'for :her home.
Mr, and Mrs. Allan Farnham
of Detroit visited Saturday with
Mr. and Mrs. Ross MacGregor.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dexter
spent last Thursday with Mrs.
Edith Vincent of Goderich.
Mr. and !Atm. Ken Reid and
sons of London spent the weer:
end with Mr. and Mrs. Luther
Sanders.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Taylor
and Mr. and Mrs. Verne Dale vis-
ited with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Web-
ster of St. Helens on SAmday.
Warden Wm. Jewitt and Mrs.
Jewitt entertained at a Turkey
Dinner Monday evening to the
Township Council and other of-
ficials.
Warden Wm. Jewitt, Miss Joyce
Jewitt and Mrs. Wilbur Jewitt
spent Tuesday in Toronto. War-
den Jewitt attended county busi-
ness at the Parliament Buildings.
Candle Light Service
An impressive service was held
Sunday evening at the Constance
73,C., when the members and
leader of the CGIT took part in
a Candle Light Service. CGIT
girls Joyce Brown, Mary Buch-
anan and Mary .McGregor read
alternate Scripture lesson. The
leader Miss Joyce Jewitt led the
service and Rev. H. 81nnge read
the main story of the service. Af-
ter which. CGIT girls Glenne
Jowitt, Janice Jewitt and Marg-
aret MacGregor lit the candles
representing gold, trvunleincense
and myrrh, and each girl light-
ing their candles while suitable
Christmas hymns were sung. Mrs,
McIllwain sang "0 Holy Night"
accompanied by Mrs, Wm. Jew-
itt. Mrs. Frank Riley was p7an-
ist throughout the service.

Saturday evening the GOF, Hall
at Constance was well filled when
progressive euchre was enjoyed
