HULLETT
On Dec. 14th, over 25 adulate of
the Fireside Farm Forum met at
the home of ,Mir, and Mrs. Bob Ri-
ley t6 study market extension..
This :topic paused much disoussien
and many agreed we .dict not un-
derstan.d ,government action on
farm problems, They thought
they did not understand the prob-
lems.
It was generally agreed that
marketing boards could send ca-
pable men to foreign countries
and ,we could be suoces'eful in se-
curing better markets, •Olieese
marketing boards have ,been suc-
cessful In securing these markets.
Frequently officials are inter-
fering with ,plans and deny the
farms board the necessary powe'r's
to increase our export trade,
We believe the .farmers :should
process snore of their produce
and market through their board.
If middle hien •oould .be .eliminat-
ed prices could ibe lowered and
thus lower the surpluses. ,Meat,
eggs, and milk 9narduets are pro -
•ducts in which we would like
more export :markets.
Progressive •euchre was played,
most games: Mrs. Geo. Carter,
Carmen Riley; lone hands Mrs.
Bob Dalton, Eric Anderson; con-
solation, Mrs. Don Buchanan, and
Wayne Riley.
The next forums will be (held at
the Ihoane of Mrs, Jim Howalit on
Jan. 491i.
