Facts About The Acts
C.T.A,
The Canada Temperance
Act is a restrictive measure,
Prohibits sale within the
county of alcohol for bever-
agepurposes. (Individuals
may buy liquor outside and
have it conveyed to their
homes by 00111111011 carrier.)
Reduces sale of intoxi-
cants.
Discourages treating.
No legal sale to minors,
'and no legal outlets to invite
illicit purchases,
The O,T.A, was voted in by
Huron people,
L.O.A. and
Liquor- Control Act and Li.
cense Act are designed to
provide for and promote -sale,
Provide for: sale through eight
different typos of outlet, sone
of which could bo establish-
ed in certain Huron niunie1p-
polities without a vote.
Sale is increased. Ontario's
liquor consumption has dou-
bled in 10 years.
These Acts encourage
drinking' to excess in beer
parlors and lounges.
No legal sale to minors, but
they have little difficulty, the
courts find, in being served
i11 beef' parlors.
Under the L.C,A, (never
submitted to the people of
Ontario) municipalities have
no control over licensing,

PROCLAMATION
TOWN OF SEAFORTH
•
In accordance with a resolution passed by
the Municipal Council of the Town of Seaforth,
I hereby proclaim that in view of the present
rabies situation no dog shall be allowed to run
at large in the Town of Seaforth until further
notice from this date, November -12, 1958.
B. F. Christie
Mayor
God Save the Queen
Town of Seaforth
Re Dog Proclamation
In view of the disregard by the general
public of the recent proclamation
issued by the Town Council re the
confinement of dogs, and the fact that
they are not to run at large at any
time, the Council feels that charges
must be laid under this By-law.
Any owner or harborer of a dog who
allows it to run at large can be sum-
moned into court. The fine in a case of
this kind could be $5.0.00 and costs.
The Council and myself would ask all
citizens concerned to comply with the
laws and avoidthe consequences.
B. F. Christie
Mayor
