Another Barn Is
Prey To Flames
On Monday afternoon fire cons

Spirited Away
Serious inconvenience resulted
on Saturday when 'it was diseov
ered that themilking machine
was missing from the . tam of
Gerald Van Den Hengel, two
miles northeast of Seaforth,
where 28 cowe have to be milked
twice daily.

the mealtime was not located over
the week end. It was thought the
removal of the anilking machine
may have been a prank, awhile the
family were in Seaforth Jor the

On Monday night, after receev-
ing an anonymous telephone call,

•found behind the white fence at
John Willeme' farm, RR 4, Sea -
forth. (However some vital parts
are stilt missing. Mr. Van Den

Condition Critical
After Accident
The condition of Mrs. Mary
Talbot of Brucefiield was reported
Unchanged and still critical Wed-
nesday at Clinton Publea Hospital
where she has ,been a patient
since Sunday night.
Mrs. Talbot suffered a fractured
skull and head anduries in an ac-
cident invoOving six cars in Bruce
field. Jean elcolinohey, 16, suffer-
ed concussion and facial cute.
Both were passengers in a car

LADY BOWLERS HOLD BRIDGE
An Interesting evening was
spent at the home of Miss Dor-
othy Parke, retiring president of
the Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club,
when the members enjoyed a del-'
ieaouS pot luck supper and an ev-
ening el bridge and euchre. The
euchre prize donated by Mies
Gladys Th'onvpson was won by
Mrs. L. Ford. !Mee. Alice Stiles
won the bridge prize Mrs. Lloyd
Hoggarth 'donated. Donis Ken-
nedy was .presented with a cup
and eauoer by Miss Dorothy
Peeke, Mrs. Swale Hart was ap-
aointed• euchre convener with
Mrs. L. Fowl as her assistant.
Mrs. Clare Reith wee convene the
bridges, Mrs. L. Hoggarth assist-
ing her. The phoning committee
will be Mrs. A. Stacey, Mrs, J.

CMTs. John Corwin Mrs. B. F.
Christie has 'offered her home for

The thankoffering meeting of
the afternoon 'VMS Auxiliary of
First Presbyterian Church was
held on Tuesday afternoon with
guests present from 'Carmel Aux-
iliaries, Hensall, the Barbara
Kirkman •Auxiliary and the ata
Melee affiliated group. The +pres-
ident, Mea, J. L. Bell, presided
and welcomed the guests. S'orip-
tuee lesson, and comments were
given by Maes Belle Campbell; fol-
lowed with prayer 'by Mrs, W.
John Thompson, Mrs. F. K1ing's
solo, "Thanks lee To God", was
Muth endoyed. .Mrs. E, 'Geddes
played euitabie music while the
'offering was received by Miss Jes-
sie Firmer and Mrs. McGregor.
Mrs. Bell introduced the guest
sneaker, Mrs, G, C, Vale of Hem

on Thanksgiving, reminding ate

On 'Saturday morning October
24th, at 10 o'clock the marriage
took place at St. James It C.
Church, here,' with Rev. C. Sulli-
van officiating, of Catherine Wil-
helm_ Ona Van Den Henget, ' daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Van
Den Henget, 12cleiliap, to Harry
Hak, of McKillop. The groom is
the son of Mr, and Mrs. Lamber-
tus. Irak, Aelvterveid (tits`.), Hol-
land. The church was decorated
with -yellow and white baby
mums. The organist was Mrs. A.
Stiles, and the soloist F. Sills Jr.
The bride, given away by her
father, wore an identical gown of
white tulle with panel inserts of
French lace, the bodice fashion-
ed with a neckline of Italian de-
sign, lily point sleeves, her fin-
ger tip veil of French tulle, crown
of iridescent pearl and sequin.
The bride's flowers were 12 red
roses, white mums and- ivy.
The maid of honor was Miss
Antonette Van Den Henget, sister
of the bride, and carried white
carnations and mums. The brides-
maid was Miss Anne Van Den
Henget of London. The flower girl
was Rose +1Tairy Van Deft Hen -
gel. The groom was supported by
Leo Tovenati. Ushers were Bill
Van Den Henget, Seaforth, and
Peter Iran Herk, Stratford.
The wedding dinner washeld
in the Community Centre, served
by Mrs. Miller.
For travelling the bride wore
firelight jersey, -draped bodiceand
large collar. The honeymoon will
be spent in Quebec and 'New Eng-
land States. Upon their return
they will reside at RR 5 Seaforth

esdale, Penn.; Burlington, Lon-
don, Sarnia, Forest, Delaware,
Sudbury, Stratford, St. Marys,
Dublin, • Monkton, Guelph and

Stamp Vending
'Machine Is Stolen
Thieves removed the stamp
vending machine from the front
of the Seatol'tlt Dost office some
time between 2 am. and•6 am, on
Monday morning. It •contained
about $50 in stamps and coins.
Local pollee have been on the
lookout far it. 'Phe machine was
pried from the 'rounding with a
bar. Postal authorities at London
were notified and postal Inspec-
tors and the RCMP will invests-
gate.
MRS. BE'SSIE KERR
'Mrs. Bessie Herr, widow of the
late Alex. Kerr, died at the Attie
nursing home, Seaforth, on Oot.
22nd about 4 pen. in her 69th
year She was limn en Hullett
township, daughter of the late
86r, and Mrs. James G. MoMichael,
She had been a book keeper and
was a termer secretary -treasurer
of the Seaforth Agricultural Soc-
iety. She was a member of Fleet
Presbyterian Olimch, Seaforth.
One son, Scott Kerr, survives, also
one sister, Mrs. R. 13. (Helen)
Holmes, Tier husband died In
1940 Meg. Kerr had been a :mem-
ber of the church chole, and also
of the Women's . Missionary Soc.

The second .meeting of the Mc -
Miley Busy Beavers was held at
the 'home of Mrs. Scott and Mar-
.guenite on Saturday, Ootober 24115.
The 'meeting opened with the In-
stitute Ode, followed by the 4T
pledge. We welcomed to our club
meeting Miss Tilman, our new
home economist who spoke to us
on setting up exhibits. Mrs.
Popple gave us notes on Good

these headings: Space, wells,
floor. Sight, ventilation and at -
emotiveness. rune Smith and
Joan Puyce showed how to make
a bias binding. Amy Stewart and
Eleanor Keys showed how to

CUBS TO ORGANIZE
It is announced that the Sea-
forth Oub Paok will reorganize on
Tuesday, Nov. 3rd for the 1960
season. Due to a lack of leaders
and instructors only those Cubs
who were attending dnr'ing 1959
will be accepted for the time be-
ing. Meeting will commence at
7 pan. at the town hall.
WALTON
On Saturday evening some of
the children in the community
are having a Hallowe'en for
UNIG115P. An orange tag will clis-
tinguleh the visitors who will be
collecting Ilallowe'en "treats" of
clans. Tiliese will be converted in-
tro Life-saving medicines, milk and
vitamins, preventive vaccines, es-
sential to the • health and welfare
of children in more than 100 coun-
tries.

ed Church, Kipepen, met on Oct.

Last Wednesday we ltelcl our
annual field meet. It was a big
success. We were unable to finish
but will complete the events ln-
auding the boys' big soccer game
on the first fine day that comes
along. The Up -School girls (11
and 12) beat the Down -school
girls (9 and 10) 'in their first base
hall game. The Down -School girls
vowed that they will win .the se-
cond game. "Art" is sure that
he could pole ;vault much higher
than the poles. If we would 'let
Um! Louise and Helen ought to
be champion soft ball players, for
they won in their soft ball speed
throw contest. The events this
year were new, challenging and
interesting. We were .glad to have
St. Patrick's pupils help us cheer
and aid our sales, On Thursday
the teachers attended the Mitch-
ell Educational Conference, so we
were albie to "catch up" on soltool
ware(! ! ?
