Harold James Gilchriet, 57, of
4251 Neff Road, Detroit, died on
Saturday at his home there after
a lengthy illness. He is survived
by his wife, the former Alice
Chesney of Seaforth. • He was
born, and educated in Scotland,
and came to North America in
1919. He was .employed by the
Detroit Edison Co., and later be-
came an investigator for the Mi-
chigan Humane Society, He is
survived by his wife; by one bro-
ther in Michigan, and by :three
sisters in ;Scotland. The body was
at the Box funeral home, Sea -
forth, where service was held on
Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Dr.
James Semple of Egmondville
United Church officiating. Burial
was in Maitlandbanlc - cemetery.

Lions parlc the evening of June

The 24th annual Harrison re-
union was held at Harbor parit,
Goclerich, on June 13th, There
was an attendance of 72. The di-

of cooked ham, hot Potatoes and

arena Saturday night. Records

Health of the Herd was the
topic discussed when Dr. Turn-
bull of Seaforth addressed :the
members -of :Seaforth and Brus-
sels 4H Beef Calf Clubs at the
home of Ephraim Haase, Winth-
rop, Wednesday evening, A class
of mature Hereford crave and a
two year old .heifer were judged.
Reasons for placing were taken
from a number of members, Dan
Rose, summer assistant with the
Dept. of Agriculture, gave the of-
ficial placing. The minutes of
last meeting were read by Bill
Strong and the bus trip on July

St. Thomas' Anglican Church,
Seaforth, was the scene of a pet-
ty June wedding -Saturday. after-
noon, June 27 at 2 o'clock, when
Doreen Elizabeth Medley, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hed-
ley, Wigton, Cumberland, Eng-
land, became the bride of George
Irwin Johnston, son of Mr. and
'Mrs. Frank Johuston, McKillop•
Rev, T. H. James officiated.
White mums, orange blossoms,
pink and white peonies ;decorat-
ed the church, The bride, who
was given away hY Mr. Arthur
Cawkwell, 'of England, wore a
floor length gown, bpuffant skirt,
made of maid- of mist, portrait
neckline, long pointed sleeves,
silk illusion veil held in place by
a lace head dress trimmed with
pearls and sequins. She had a
shower bouquet of orange delight
roses and white gardenias.
Matron of honor was loIrs.
Raymond Chambers of London,
wearing pale yellow nylon chiffon
over taffeta, with a elrower bou-
quet of blue delphiniums :and
white amine. Misses Sharon and -
Sandra Johnston were flower
girls, costumed in pale yellow
nylon chiffon over taffeta. Mr:
Harry Johnston was best man.
Ushers were Raymond Chambers
and Mac Bolton,
Mr. Fred James of Stratford
was organist. Mrs, Cleave Coombs
sang "0 Perfect Love."
The reception was held in St.
Thomas' parish hall. Mrs. Cawk-
well wore a pale blue dress with
white accessories and Mrs, John-
ston, the groom's mother, a pink
floral dress with white accessor-
ies. The bride - and groom are
epending their ,honeymoon in Bri-
tish Columbia. For travelling the
bride wore a mint green suit
with beige accessorles. Me. and
Mrs. Johnston will reside in Lis-
towel.

Mr. Win. Murdee, of Seaforth,
acted as groomsman while Mr.
Glen Millzen, St, Marys, and Mr.
Lyle Steadman, of Brigden, ush-
ered.
For a. reception in the church
'hall, the bride's mother wore a
dress of blue lace over taffeta
with beige accessories. The
groom's mother wore a flowered
blue arnel dress with white ac-
cessories. The dresses were com-
plimented by a corsage ,of pink
roses.
For travelling, the bride chose
a melon flannel snit with beige
accessories. On their return
from a trip to Europe the young
couple will reside in Ottawa.

The annual Orange service was
held in the United Church last
Sunday evening. The Orangemen
headed by Bannockburn Banal pa-
raded (through the village before
and after the service. Rev. T. J.
Pitt gave a very stirring address
