elected chairman of Huron Pres-

Several vacancies in the Pres-
bytery were reported. The ,call to

was confirmed, also a call to Rev.
Herbert Lewis of Barrie to Ex-
eter James Street 'United Ohurch,
succeeding Rev. Harold Snell.
Secretary Roy Kennedy, who is
the father of six daugeters, re-
ceived congratulations from PTE)S-
bytery members, on the birth of
a son thie week.
MRS. NELSON KEYES
Mrs. Nelson Keyes, the former
Mineree M. Kennedy, of Dgmond-
ville, died Sunday in Scott Mem-
-oriel :Hospital in her 8.6th year.
Mes, Keyes had been seriously 101
for the east four weeks. Mr. and
Mrs. Keyes had farmed in Stan-
ley township until retiring to
Rgmondville hi 1935, Mr. Keyes
predeceased her in 1951. She was
e member of legmandville Ignited
Church and was active in the
work of the women's organiza-
tions of .the church foe many
years. Surviving 'are five sons,
'Sherlock and Ebner, of Varna;
Ruskin, Windsor; Wilbur, Sea -
forth re 3, and Stuart of °Atha.
There are also 12 grandchildren
.and six great geandchildren, The
funeral took place en Tuesday at
3 p.m. from the Whitney funeral
home with Rev. Dr. Semple of
Egmondville ,officiating. Burial
was in Bayfield cemetery.
The Pallbearers were six gems&
sons, Grant, ,GeTald, ,George, Don-
ald, Merton and Stuart Keyes.
The flowerbearers were Clifford
Keyes, Bernard Keyes, George E.
Johnson and Russell Erratt.

"Mrs. J. L. Bell presided and led
in devotions at the regular meet-
ing of the afternoon WMS of
First Presbyterian -Church held
Tuesday in the church hall. Sev-
eral items of business were dis-
eussed. A collection for the eup-
ely allocation Is to be taken at
the May meeting.
Mrs. W. John Thompson read a
letter of thanks from Mee Lillian
Dickson, missionary in Taiwan,
Free China, for used Christmas
cards sent by the auxiliary. In it
Mrs. Dickson told of her work
among the aborigines and of the
many -needs of these neglected
mountain. people. Ales. W. 3,
Thompson and Mrs. J. William
Thompson then gave some high-
lights of the Hamilton and Lon-
don Synodical raeetinga held in

ephone receiver off and ,the an-

the church hall last Thursday af-

The president, Mrs. Helen. McMil-
lan presided. The scripture was

The report of the Synodical held
in Goderich recently was given
by Mrs. J. F. Scott and Miss Jean
