CLEANERS CANADIAN manufacturing in each month of 1958 provided employment for an average of 1,146,156 Canadian men and women. This represented nearly 43 per cent of all, non-agricultural employment in Canada. The combined income of those engaged in manu- facturing in 1958 was slightly less than $5 billion or about 31 per cent of all Canadian wages, salaries and supplementary labor income. Manufacturing is by far the most im- portant -part of the Canadian economy. Manufacturing provides the greatest amount of employment in Canada. It snakes by far the largest contribution to government revenues. Its production enables Canadians to enjoy the second highest standard• of living in -the world. Because of its contribution to our way of life, Canadian manufacturing deserves the support of every Canadian through the purchase of goods made t.''E'' in Canada.
