The teachers and pupils of S, S,
No, 2, Tuekerslnith held their y,mas
concert on Tuesday evening last
and was largely attended. Twenty-
three dollars was realized, Rev. N.
McLeod was chairman. Drills, dia-
logues and recitations by the pupils
made a good entertainment Ander

Gregor gave a Xmas Story, Mrs. R.
Broadfoot conducted a contest,
Christmas Carols were sung and
Santa 'presented gifts to everyone.
Bank Books were presented to
Baby Janice Eyre and Baby Bar-
bara Gemmell.
A delicious lunch was served by the
hostess and lunch committee.
WINTHROP
Mr. and Mrs, Robert McClure of
MCKillop and Mr, and Mrs. Lorne
Wilson of Tuckersmith spent the
weekend with Mr, and Mrs. Stewart
Knox at Sarnia.
Mr. Robert MacFarlane visited
Mr. R. W. Craw and Mr. and Mrs,
Jack Cunningham at Fergus on Sat-
urday.
A splendid program was put on
by the pupils of S. S. No. 10 on
Monday night, of songs, recitations,
dialogues and. drills. The teacher,
Mrs. McCreath, deserves great cred-
it for instructing the children so
well. Santa arrived and distributed
gifts from a well -laden tree, after'
which lunch was served. Mr. and
Mrs. Robt. Grimoldby and Mr. Mil-
ler Adams played for the dance
which followed.
CONSTANCE
Mr. and Mr's. Geo. Leitch enter-
tained the Friendly Few Farm For-
um at their home on Monday even-
ing. The topic, "Buildinlg for
Peace". There were some good sug-
gestions
ubgestions on how we may help se-
cure and maintain .worldwide peace.
1VIr. and Mrs. Kenneth Thompson in-
vited the group to their home for
next Monday night. Winners for eu-
ehre were, High, Mrs. James Dale,
ladies; Mr. Ken Thompson, men's;
consolation, James Dale, Douglas
Riley.
Mrs. David Milison and son Billy
were guests over the weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Durnin and son
Mervin, Londesboro.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hall of Flint,
Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Allen Franklin
and two children of Clio, Mich.,
were guests on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Wilbur Jewitt and Mr. and
Mrs. Reuben Jewitt. -
The S. S. and Public School com-
bined are holding their Xmas enter-
tainment in the schoolroom of the
Church on Tuesday evening, Dec.
23rd. A good program is being' pro-
vided, the main feature being a plaY
put on by the young people, "In
Doubt About Daisy".
The Christmas meeting of the
W.M.S. was held in the Sunday
School room on Wed., Dec. 10, with
Mrs. Dave Milison presiding. Prayer
by Mrs. Montgomery. The roll call
was answered by 22 present. A solo
by Mrs. Grimoldby accompanied by
Mrs. Riley. A reading by Mrs. Ad-
dison followed by a hymn. Mrs.
Borden Brown gave a reading. A
quartette, Silent Night, was sung by
four of the school girls. Mrs. Reu-
ben Jewitt gave the Christmas story
taken from Isaiah. The presentation
of a life membership certificate to
Mrs. Charles Dexter by Mrs. D.
Milison and Mrs. Frank Riley was
made. Mrs. Dexter thanked the la-
dies, Mrs. Hugill also thanked the
ladies for the W. A. gift. Mrs. Lind-
say closed the meeting with Christ-
mas thoughts.
