The October meeting of the W.A.
and W.M.S. was held Oct. 3th in the
basement of the church. Mrs, Me-
Llwain presided for the W.A. and
opened the meeting with a poem,
"Brothers." he Minutes of September
meeting were read and approved.
Mrs. Millson took charge for the
W.M.S. Nominating committee was
appointed to make a slate of offic-
ers for 1953 comprising Mi's. Geo.
Leitch, Mrs. Lorne Lawson, Mrs,
Earl Lawson, Mrs. Ernest Adapts.
Mrs. Lorne Lawson gave the scrip-
ture lessors, stewardship reading by
Mrs. Babcock, solo by Mrs. Lindsay,
temperance reading by Mrs. Verne
Dale, Mrs, Ernest Adams gave the
last two chapters of the study book.
Mrs. Millson closed with prayer.
Successful anniversary services
were conducted in Constance United
'Church Oct. 12th with Rev. Norman
D. McLeod B.A, B.D., guest speaker.
Mr. McLeod delivered inspiring mes.

the leadership of Mr's. Addison, were
assisted in the morning by Mrs. F,
Kling and Miss Patterson who sang
beautifully two duet numbers. The
Seaforth male quartette rendered
some fine number's in the evening.

nual sale. Stutt Bros. sold 31 head

which in some cases have been kept

Our field day plans go on as we
wait for a fine day. Our two teams
the "Lucky Leapers" and the
"Fightin.g Irish" are busy practicing.
After Thursday's sports I guess we
are all wondering if there is any
hope for the "Fighting Irish".. Still
they are the "Fighting" Irish,
The two inspectors, Mr. Zeigler
and Mr. Booth visited our school on
Tuesday. Grade 13 appreciated a
masculine view on Romeo and Juli-'
et's love affair. Maybe we will even'
profit from some good advice!

Wednesday, Oct, Sth in the school
room of the church, and entertained
the ladies from•Bethel and Duff's
Societies. Mrs. Wm. Dodds, 'Presi-
dent opened the meeting with hymn
577. Mrs. Glen Cuthill read the
scripture, Psalm 103, followed with
prayer by Mrs. George Case. Words
of welcome were extended to the
visitors by Mrs. A. Alexander. The
offering was received and response
sung. Hymn 570 was sung. Mrs. Win.
Church gave a reading, "Thoughts
by the Way". An instrumental was
played by Mr's. Frank Johnston.
Mrs, J. W. Stinson, of Seaforth, was
the guest speaker, and gave a fine
address on her life in China. Hymn
405 was sung. Mr's. Dodds then;
closed the meeting with prayer.
Lunch was then served by the W. A.
