Six-year old Ruth Ann Petty, -
daughter of Mr. and Mr's. Win, Petty
was admitted to War Memorial
Children's Hospital, London, on Sat-
urday, with a deep gash in her
cheek. She was carrying a tin can
when she had the misfortune of fall-
ing off the verendah at her home,
and cut her cheek on the can. '
Burt -Stephenson
The home of the .bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. R. Stephenson,
Hensall, was -decorated with gladioli
and fern when their daughter Joyce
Isobel exchanged marriage vows
with Ronald Robert Burt, son of
Mrs. L. M. Burt, London. The
double -ring ceremony was performed
by Rev. W. J. Rogers. Miss Mary
Beattie was pianist and Mrs. R. E.
Smale sang.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a gown of frost -
white chantilly lace and net over
satin. The fitted bodice •of satin was
topped by •a lace jacket fashioned
with small beaded collar and long -
pointed sleeves and the bouffant
floor -length skirt was of layers of
French net over satin, A lace brim
trimmed with' orange blossoms held
her embroidered finger-tip veil and
she carried a shower of red roses
and stephanotis. Mrs. Harvey Keyes
sister of the bride was matron of
honor wearing an aqua taffeta and
lace gown with a fitted bodice fin-
ished with a sheer yoke. She wore a
Sweetheart cap of matching lace
arid carried an arrangement of yel-
low roses. Miss Elaine Keyes was
flower girl wearing a floor -length
yellow taffeta gown with ruffled
yoke and puffed sleeves. She wore
matching lace cap and carried a
nosegay of pink roses, snapdragons
and gladioli. Howard Burt, brother
of the groom was best man. At a
reception at Monetta Menard's, Ex-
eter, the bride's mother received in
a pale blue crepe street -length dress;
with navy accessories and corsage
of pink roses. The groom's mother
assisted in a toast crepe dress with
brown accessories and corsage of
yellow roses.
On their return from a motor trip
to Northern Ontario the couple will
reside in London. The bride donned
a powder blue linen dress for travel-
ing with matching jacket, brown ac-
cessories and a corsage of yellow
roses.
Rev. P. A. Ferguson, Mrs. Fergu-
son, and family .of Montreal visited
recently with friends in Hensall.
Western Fair Offers $7,000
Prize Total to Ticket Holders
Western Fair advance sale admis-
sion tickets are now on sale in Sea-
forth. These tickets, sold in strips
of three for one dollar, entitle the
holder to participate in draws for
over 87,000 in prizes including
three motor cars. Only purchasers
of advance sale tickets are eligible
for these ,prizes. Purchasers also
save 50 cents on each strip, as gen-
eral admission is 50 gents cash.
Each strip of tickets has a special
coupon which entitles the owner to
participate in the Monday night
draw, September 8,, for two cars.
