Victoria Hospital, London, where
she received treatment in the inter-
ests of her health.

the weekend on a motor trip to

children of Toronto visited during

McKILLOP
A highly esteemed resident of
the community and former township
councillor in the person ,of Joseph
O'Rourke passed away at his home
on lot 4, con. 6, IsicKilsop twp., on
Friday evening, July 25, in his 78th
year, Rev. Dr, Foulkes sang requiem
Mass on Monday morning and inter-
ment was in St. Patrick's cemetery,
Dublin. Present in the sanctuary
were Rev, Fr, Joseph O'Rourke,
cousin of the deceased, Rev. Fr. F.
Moylan, S.F.M., Rev. Fr. A. Looby,
C.S.B. Mr, O'Rourke was a faithful
member of St. Patrick's Church,
Dublin. and of the Holy Name So-
ciety. The deceased was the last sur-
viving member of the family of the
pioneer settlers, Thomas O'Rourke
and Ann Hughes. He was born on
the same farm where he lived•all his
life. Mr. O'Rourke had served on the
council of McKillop township for
several years.
Left to mourn his loss are his

Members of the Baby and Mission
Band were guests of the W.M.S. at
the meeting held in Harlock School
on July 31, Mrs, Carter presided
for the business session. Minutes of
the previous meeting were read by
Miss Laura Leiper. Mrs. K. M'cVittie
gave the treasurer's report. Every -

The following program was given
by the children, A solo, "In the
Garden" by Myrtle Knox. The Mis-
sion Band treasurer's report by
Mary Lou Roe. who stated that total
of 59,36 had been collected at the
three public schools. The BabY
Band collection for the meeting
amounted to 35.65 and the Mite Box
collection was 36.34. A piano solo,
Gloria Allen; story, Marjorie Mc -
Ewing; duet in English and Dutch,
Reiki and Wilhemina Hyink. Child-
ren's stories by Mrs. Edwin Wood;
piano solo, Jenny Morue; solo. Mlel-
vyn Knox. While the Study Book
chapter was being given by Mrs.
John McEwing, Mrs. Tom Allen
showed the children slides •ef "Kim -
bo, the African girl". She also show.
ed slides to the whole gathering.
Graduation Diplomas were given to
8 of the Baby Band members, and 7
babies received membership in the
Baby Band. The meeting closed with
the hymn, "Stand Up For Jesus",
and the Baby Band prayer.
The Ladies' Aid then met. Mrs,
Ward Knox, vice-president, conduct-
ed the business session. It was de-
cided to have the painter choose
suitable colours for painting the
outside of the church. The Ladies'
Aid will give $25.00 to the Y. P.
Class towards paying for tables and
chairs for the primary class.

appendix operation in Scott Mem-
orial Hospital last week.

Goderich, has returned to her home
in Vancouver.
