WALTON
The third meeting of the Cran-
brook 'Cornflowers was held at the
home of Mrs. Vernice 'Corlett with
nine members present, also, present
were eleven members and the leader
from the Brussels Garden Club, and
also Miss Steckle our new Home
Economist. The sheeting opened by
singing " 0 Canada". The minutes
of the last meeting were read by
Helen Knight and seconded by Isa-
bel Engel. We decided to have a
skit for achievement day. The roll
call was responded to by the group.
Miss Steckle gave a very interesting
demonstration on flower arrange-
ment. She also gave us many hints
and . bask rules of flower arrange-
ment. Mona Clarke gave a demon-
stration on a jumbo salad. follow=
ing this Anne Steffler demonstrated
bean salad: Helen's tossed salad
concluded the demonstration. The
meeting then adjourned by the sing-
ing of "The Queen". A delicious
lunch was served by our hostess.

Over 50'0 people attended a
church supper in St. Patrick's parish
hall sponsored by the Catholic Wo-
men's League. Mrs. John Meagher,
president of the C.W.L. and con-
vener of the event extended a wel-
come home on behalf of the parish
to Rev. Dr. J, B. Ffoulkes who has
been ill in St. Joseph's Hospital, in
London.
A draw was held, first prize won
by Mrs. Jos. Shea. 2nd by Louis
Givlin, 3rd by Seaforth News. A
dance followed, music by Willow
Grove Serenaders. Father J. Durand
and Jerry Holland, co -conveners.
The proceeds will go towards the
Catholic Women's League work.
