home baking sale to he held later
that month. We regretted IVIrs, Mac'
Milian and Mrs. Silcox could not be
present to accept the gifts the group
is presenting to them prior to their
leaving our midst, The meeting was
reminded of the Caldwell films to
be presented June 25 in the United
Church Sunday School room. Mrs.
Eaton offered her home for the Sep-
tember meeting. Mra. C. Henderson
delighted with two readings, "When
the Minister comes to Tea", and
"Friendship". Mrs, . Close read the
• article "Let's Get Together" written
by a Catholic layman pleading for
religious unity. The meeting closed
with prayer by Mrs. Ellis. The host-
ess was assisted in serving a delic-
ious lunch by Mrs. 0, Walden, Mrs,
Bechtel and Miss Eleanor Hender-
son. Thanks was expressed to the
hostess and those assisting by Miss
Ferguson.

Mr, Ii, F. Minett and Mrs, Bertha
Box Minett left here on Juno 3rd for
an extended trill to the British Isles
with the Canadian Lawn Bowling
Team, also for the continental tour
of Europe, sailing from Montreal on
Juue 6 on the Empress of France and
returning on the Empress of Canada
in September.
Mr, Don Hillis attended a wed-
ding in Toronto aver the weekend
and started work with the Dept. of
Highways on Monday for the sum-
mer.
Mr, Harry Kruse of Toronto,
spent the weekend at the home of
Mr, and Mrs. William Oldfield.
Miss Helen Smith, Reg, N., of
London, and Miss Eleanor Gontier,
of Toronto, visited on Thursday and
Friday with the former's parents,
Mr, and Mrs. H. E. Smith,
Mrs. E. Cook of Small Heath,
Birmingham, England, and daughter
Mrs. J. E, Bennett, also sof Birming-
ham are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Thos.
Aldington. Mrs, Cook and Me. Aid-
ington 'were neighbors in England
forty years ago. Mrs. Cook visited
her brother, Mr.. F. W. Bagguley iu
Ottawa. The latter's son, Howard
was a member of .the 1932 Canadian
Olympic •Ski Team, Mrs. Cook and
Mrs. Bennett made the trip to Mon-
treal by air.
Mrs. Thos. Broome, who recently
suffered a stroke, is in Scott Mem-
orial Hospital.
Mrs. T. Worden was in London on
Wednesday visiting Miss Mabel
Cameron, who underwent an oper-
ation.
Mr. and .Mrs. Ernie Kneeshaw of
London, visited friends in town over
the weekend.
Mr. Bill Wright of Windsor spent
the weekend with Mr. Don Eaton.
Miss Lorna Ellis, Toronto, spent
the weekend at her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Whiting of
Orillia were weekend guests of her
brother, Mr. H. E. Minett and Mrs.
Bertha Box Minett.
Mr. and Mrs. •Cloyne Milcel and
Karen, of Gorrie, spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Smith,
.Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hays and
daughter Patsy, Detroit, spent the
weekend with Mrs. R. S. Hays and
Mr. and Mrs. 0. P, Sills.
Miss Josephine McIver, Sarnia,
spent the weekend with her parents,
Mr. and.Mrs. Peter McIver.
Miss Karen Kidd underwent an
operation for appendicitis in Scott
Memorial Hospital this week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Neilson and
son, New Hamburg, spent the week-
end with her mother, Mrs. Julia
Flanagan.
Miss Margaret Edler visited with
friends in Sarnia over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. A. 'Enzensberger,
Carl and Joan, Detroit, spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Henry
.Cnzensberger,
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Sproat and
Mrs. Walter Barry and children, De-
troit, returned to spend the summer
months at their home, here.
Mr. Don Coutts, Sarnia, spent the
weekend with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Coutts.

All persons in the Municipality owning or har-
boring dogs must purchase 1952 licenses for same on
or before June 1Sth, 1952..Licenses will be issued
from the Treasurer's Office in the Town Hall, or from
the Tax Collector, Harold Maloney.
.After that date summonses through the Court
will be issued to the owners or harborers of dogs not
having licenses.
All dogs must wear license tags.

The display and address given by
Miss Elizabeth Mewhort, highlighted
the meeting of the Burns' W.M.S.
held in Burns' Church, on Thursday,
May 29. Mrs, Pini Scott extended a
hearty welcome to the guest speak-
er and the tK:o visiting auxiliaries of
Londesboro and Constance.
Miss Mewhort, a missionary in
India for five years, and now taking
further training at the United
Church Training School, wore an
Indian sari, typical costume of the
well-to-do Indian girls. She displayed
costumes of the village folk, jewel-
lery, purses, mats, buttons, lamp,
plates and water glasses and jugs.
Mrs. Wesley Roe thanked the
speaker and Miss Mae Smith pre-
sented her with a gift from Burns'
Society.
Mrs. Brenton gave an interesting
account of the afternoon session of
the Presbyterial meeting held re-
cently in Clinton.
Mrs, Lorne Lawson, of Constance,
gave a reading entitled, "There'll be
room in Heaven". Miss Irma Watt
gave an organ instrumental. Mrs.
Vincent and Mrs. Brenton sang a
lovely duet, "Come Holy Spirit".
Miss Watt accompanied them on the
organ, Mrs. Lear reported that al-
ready $72, had been collected for
the Building Fund for the United
Church Training School..
The scripture reading was given
by Mrs. John McEwing, opening
prayer by Mss. Harvey Taylor, of-
fertory prayer by Mrs. Ernest Knox.
GROUP FOUR MEETS
Group 4 of Northside W. A. inet
in the church parlors for regular
June meeting. The meeting was
opened by Mrs. Ferris by singing
hymn 875. Psalm 23 was read by
Mrs. Cuthill. after which we were
favored by a solo by Betty Muegge
with Mrs. Robert iYlcKercher at the
piano. Roll call was answered by a
verse of Love. Our baking sale and
bazaar is to be held on Saturday.

Home Economist, gave us a talk
which was much enjoyed, After
singing hymn 330 the meeting was
closed after which a contest was.en-
joyed. Mn. Ferris thanked 'Mrs. Ro-
bert McKercher, Betty Muegge and
all those taking part, after which a
delicious lunch was served.
W. A. GROUP MEETS
On Tuesday evening, Mrs. Glen
Pryce was hostess to Group 1 of the
Woman's Association of Northside
United Church. The devotional con-
vener, Mrs. Ellis, opened with a
scripture reading and based her re-
marks on putting first- things first,
following this with prayer. "Home
is Haven" was a poem used by Mrs.
Garnham. The secretary's and treas-
urer's reports were read. It was de-
cided that July and August meet-
ings be withdrawn and that we rr'e'
