Allen, Secretary of Christian Stewardship gave a splendid reading to temperance, "I can take a drink or leave it alone". There was much discussion on send- ing the ,bale of good used clothing and articles for children valued at four hundred dollars. Mrs. T. Fair - service, leader of group 2 took the chair for the program. Hymns were sung and Mrs. J. Crawford gave the Bible reading, Miss Phyllis McCool sang a pleasing solo with Mrs. T. Allen at the piano. Mrs. Brenton spoke of the Presbyterial held at Clinton, but time was limited so the report was not given. Meeting closed with a hymn and prayer. SEM-11O11TH NEWS S a fair attendance. Tho United Church observed Mo- tier's Day or Family Day on Sunday at 10 o'clock with a well filled church, The S. S. had a part with Mr, Harry Snell, Supt„ in the chair who followed the S. 3, Family Day program, Margaret Lyon gave the Mother Day story. Rev. S. H, Bren- ton, our pastor, gave a short ad- dress, There wag a baptismal ser- vice when Mr, Brenton .baptised 4 young children, and Dr. Robt. Greer - son baptized Rev. and Mrs. Bren- ton's youngest slaughter. There were several potted plants and cut flowers at the altar, One lovely large basket, all white, was placed in memory of the late Mr. Maines and Mrs, Maines and Miss Elizabeth, by the daughters and slaters, Mr. and Mrs. C. Throolpe, Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. H. Wells, Blyth. There were several family gather- ings, Mr. and Mrs. Doer and family, Auburn, Mr, and Mrs, John Pipe and son, Brussels, with the lady's par- ents, Mr'. and Mrs. Chas. •Vodden, MI', and Mrs. T. Fairservice had their four daughters and husbands and families with them on Mother's Day, all together counting Mr, and Mrs. Fairservice there were 23, Miss Fern Watson, London, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Riley and daughter with their mother, Mrs. C. Watson, ,Mr. J. P. Manning, London, with his mother, Mrs, J. E. Manning and the Tamblyn family, Mrs, Weber and Ronny, Egmond- ville, and other friends from Bruce - field with Mr, and Mrs, Bert Allen on Sunday, Miss D. Little, Toronto, -with her mother, Mrs. R. Townsend and Mr. Townsend on Sunday. Miss Margaret Tamblyn and ,her friend Miss Margaret Shields, Belle- ville, spent the weekend at the home of Frank Tamblyn. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Yungblut with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. Wm. Wells, Clinton. Several attended the Music Festi- val at Goderieh on Monday night. There is to be a ,music festival held in the Londesboro United Church on June' 13th. There will be morning, afternoon and evening sessions, sponsored by the Federation of Ag- riculture and the W. I. Mrs. J. D. Melville and Mrs. Laura Saundercock who are both patients in the 'Clinton Public Hos- pital, have each had operations and are reported as getting along quite well and are expected home this week. Mrs. W. Brunsdon is quite poorly with a heavy cold. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lyon and family were guests for Mrs, Mary Beacom and Edith, Sunday. Sunday visitors with Mr. Harry Durnin were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kerslake, Exeter, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lobb and Grace, Holmesville. Mr. and Mrs, Edward Yungbiutt had all their family home on Moth- er's Day, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Yungbiutt, Goderieh, and little son, Mr. and Mrs. Williams and children of Clinton, Mr. and Mrs. Don Ken- nedy, Hullett, and Mrs. L. Young- blutt and Donna of Hullett twp. DUBLIN The 9th Club meeting was held at Reta Eckert's. The meeting was called to order by the President and roll call was answered by our group recipe that we had tried and the improvements that were or •could have been made. Beverly read last weeks minutes followed by a discus- sion dh Achievement Day and the almost completed record books. Since this is our last meeting we have decided to all go down to Whet - hams on Tuesday and review our meat project. Lunch was then served by Reta and Beverley.
