The regular meeting of the Ladies
Club was held at the horn of Mrs.
Ed Layton on Wednesday, April 2
with a good attendance. The meet-
ing was opened with the Opening
Ode followed by the Lord's prayer
M unison. The chorus of Easter Par-
ade was sung. The roll call was An-
swered by everyone present with
"A cure for the blues". Several top-
ics of business were discussed. A

good program was enjoyed consist-
ing of contests and a reading
which were conducted by Mrs. Bert
Garrett and Mrs. Ed Layton. Win-
ners of the contests were Mrs. Met-
calfe and Mrs. N, Garrett, Mrs, W.
Roberts and Mrs. W. Rogerson. The
crocheted doily was won by Mrs. W.
Gibbings. "When it's Springtime in
the Rockies" was sung and the
meeting closed with the Homemak-
er's Prayer. A delicious lunch was
served by the hostess and the mem-
bers of Group 3. Many thanks to
Mrs. Layton for her hospitality in
entertaining the club at her home,
WINTHROP
The Easter tliankoffering meeting
of the W. A. and W.M,S. was held
in Cavan Church, April 2nd with a
good attendance. W. A. Pres., Mrs.
Jas. McClure opened the meeting
with hymn 108, responsive reading
745 from the Hymnary. Prayer was
then given in unison on Guidance
from the prayer card. W.M.S. Pres.,
Mrs. Wm. Dodds took the chair. A
moment of silent prayer, then prayer
by Mrs. W. Dodds for our mission-
ary Miss Nora Shepherd. Mrs. G.
Smith gave a Christian Stewardship
reading on Easter. A temperance
reading -"Alcohol talks to you" .by
IVIrs, Wni. McSpadden. The devotion-
al part was taken with Mrs. R. Bol-
ton as leader. The Easter program
from the Missionary Monthly was
followed; the theme "Easter gave us
the Bible". The different parts were
taken by Mrs. Livingstone, Mrs. L.
Bolton, Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Trewar-
tha and Mrs. Chambers Mrs. Bolton
closed the meeting with prayer.

Gladys Whitfield at Lucan. Surviv-
inc are his wife and two daughters,
Mrs. George , Jean:, Finley, Toronto
and Miss Helen Currie at home; also
two sisters, Mrs. Percy Garside,
London, and Mrs. Christens McDow-
ell, Brussels. There are two grand-
children. The funeral took place
from the G. A. Whitney funeral
hone, Goderich •St. West., on Satur-
day with Rev, D. A. MacMillan of
Northside United Church conducting
the service. Interment in Maitland -
bank cemetery. .
The pallbearers were Messrs Hel-
mer Snell, Willard Elliott, M. Mc-
Kellar, Alex McNabb, Peter Mclvor,
D. H. Wilson.

Patrick's Church. Rev, Dr. Ffoulkes,
pastor, sang the Requiem High
Mass. Interment took place in the
adjoining cemetery. The pallbear-
ers were seven sons-in-law, Louis
Bruxer, Joseph McLaughlin, Charles
O'Neil, Ben Blonde, Joseph Malone,
Joseph Shea, Edward Melad7 and a
nephew James Gallagher of Toronto.
Friends attended the funeral from
Toronto, Detroit, Windsor, Chatham,
Stratford, Trenton, London and Sea -
forth.
McKILLOP
A life-long resident of McKillop
twp., Miss Matilda Grace Scott, died
at her home Thursday et the age
of 70; she had been an invalid for
24 years. Miss Scott was the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. David Scott. She
received her education at S. S. No.
4, McKillop and was a member of
First Presbyterian Church, Seaforth:
Her only survivor is one sister Miss
Elizabeth Scott. Funeral services
were conducted at the G. A. Whit-
ney funeral hone, Goderich St.
West on Friday with Rev. D, G.
Campbell officiating. Interment in
Maitlandbank cemetery.
The pallbearers were James Hogg,
Robert M. Scott, Albert Harrison,
Gordon McKenzie, Kenneth Murray,
Thoma, Nash.
FATHER DIES
Mr. Arthur Bushie of town on
Monday attended the funeral of '0s
father, the late Frank Geroux Bushie
which was held in Hamilton. Deceas-
ed priced awe/4- at St, Joseph's Hos-
pital in Hamilton on Sunday morn-
ing. at 5.80 following a long illness
from cancer. The late Mr, Bushie
who was 77 years of age is survived
by ?as .rife who resides at the fern-

Midland.• and five sons and four

MRS. JAMES DELANEY
The death occurred in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Thursday, Ap-
ril 3rd of Sarah Ann McQuaid, be-
loved wife of Jas. Delaney. This fol-
lowed an illness of several months.
The late Mrs. Delaney, born in St.
Columban 73 years ago, was the
younger daughter of the late James
McQuaid and Ellen Ryan.
On February 23, forty-nine years
ago she married James Delaney of
Dublin, who survives together with
two sons Joseph and James of Dub-
lin, and seven daughters, Mrs. Louis
Bruxer (Mary), Dublin; Mrs. Joseph
McLaughlin (Helen), Manley; Mrs.
Charles O'Neil (Evelyn), Windsor;
Mrs. Ben Blonde (Anna), Chatham;
Nlrs. Joseph Malone 1(Teresa), Beech -I
'wood; Mrs. Joseph Shea (Loretta),
Dublin; Mrs. Edward Melody (Fran-
ees) St. Columban' 34 grandchild,.
ren; and her two brothers John Mc-
Quaid of Seaforth and Michael Me -
Quaid of Detroit. The late Mrs. De-
laney was predeceased by one sist-
er Mary, of Kansas, and four broth-
ers, Frank and Joseph of St. Co-
lumban; Martin of Toronto•. and Di'.
Thomas McQuaid of Sault Ste. Mar-
ie. She was a faithful member of
St. Patticic's Rolnan Catholic Church
of Dublin; the Altar Society, the
Catholic Women's League, the Pro-
pagation of the Faith and the League
of The Sacred Heart.

To Ontario Producers of Eggs and Poultry
The Ontario Farm Products Marketing llr-ard has received a petition for the approval
of a proposed marketing scheme for eggs, ander the provisions of the Ontario Farm
Products Marketing Act.
A vote by ballot has been arranged so that the Boarcl can deteimine the opinion of
Producers on this proposal. If you_are 21 years of age or over and have produced and sold
eggs during 1951 and/or are producing and selling eggs in 1952, you are eligible to vote.
Any member of a family engaged in the production and sale of eggs is .eligible, if over 21
years of age, hut only one member of such a family is entitled to vote.
Each producer of eggs and poultry who wishes to vote \vil1 be required to declare his
eligibility and to register with the returning officer at his polling station before receiving
a ballot. Your Agricultural -Representative is the Chief Returning Officer for your County
or District.
Voting will take place on April 17, 18 and 19, 1952, between the hours of i) a m.
and 9 p.m. In this area polling stations will be located as follows:
