Dr, Ffoulkes officiated the graveside, THE SEAFORTH NEWS JUNIOR FARMER NEWS The Seaforth District Jtuiiol' 1''a1'lners and Junior Institute held their monthly meeting, Tuesday evening, April 8th in the High Sehool, The boy's meeting opened with the roll -call, each member answer- ing with the no• of acres of spring grain they intended to sow, The minutes of the annual meeting were then read, Mr. Butler, assistant ag- riculture representative, demonstrat- ed how to take a soil test and the soil boxes were distributed to each member, and are to be returned at the June meeting. After mucic dis- cussion the boys decided that a re- minder for each meeting would be sent out before the stated meeting rather than have the year's pro- gram printed at one time. The guest speaker for the evening was Mr„ McNaughton from the Jones and McNaughton Seed Co., Exeter. He spoke on cleaning small seeds and he stated that the O.A.G. was put- ting seeds on some farms 'to in- crease production, thus alleviate the small seeds' shortage. Then he show- ed a film on cleaning seeds which proved very interesting, Stuart Wil- son moved 'a vote of thanks to the speaker. The Junior Institute opened their meeting with 0 Canada, 'followed by the Institute ode. At this time, Mrs. Gordon Papple installed the Junior officers for the coming year, The president, Mona Caldwell presided over the meeting. Mrs. Margaret Kitchen returned to her home on the second conces- sion on Saturday after spending the winter months at Mrs. Hodgert's Nursing Home in Exeter. Miss Elaine Beer of London spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Beer. Mrs. James Hoggarth Mrs. James Hoggarth, 77, lifelong resident died in Victoria Hospital, London, on Thursday night. Before her marriage she was Miss Agnes Kerr•. The deceased had been an ac- tive member of Carmel Presbyterian Church and a member of the choir for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Hog- garth celebrated their golden wed- ding anniversary last September. Surviving besides her husband are two sons Herb and Donald of Lon- don; three daughters, Mrs. Stewart Barbour, Mimico; Mrs. Roy Frear, Grand Bend; and Mrs. Clarke Ken- nedy, Hensall. Private funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. from Bon- thron's Funeral Horne by Rev. J. B. Fox.
