Miss Betty Goudie sang very beautifully "In The Garden" with Miss Joyce Wilson at the piano. A special feat- ure of the evening was a talk by Provincial Constable Ferris telling of his work and experiences while on duty at the Guelph Reformatory, which was interesting and instruct- ive, A delicious lunch was served by the hostess and her assistants. A. hearty vote of thanks was tendered to all those who helped to make this a very enjoyable evening. Project for this month was a white elephant sale, also expect to sponsor a play during the early part of May. NORTHSIDE W, A. The monthly meeting of group 4 of Northside United Church, met on Tuesday evening, Feb, 4th with Mrs. Dr. Turnbull as hostess, The meeting was opened by aur leader, Mrs. Fer- ris with Mrs. Westcott, Mrs, Hudson as program convenors. Prayer by MTs. Ferris, scripture reading by Mrs. Currie. The roll call was an- swered by something Irish. Morrison of Piekering spent the weekend in town with friends and attended the At- Home at the High School on Friday evening. Mr. Jack Aldington and Margaret Rose of Varna spent Sunday with his parents, Mr, and Mrs. ?Thomas Aidingtou. Miss Audrey Webb and Miss Helen McKay of the Lord Dufferin fleapit - al, Orangeville, and Miss Myrtle Rei - der, Reg. N., and Miss Helen •Smith, Reg. N., of London, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs, H. E. Smith. A doorway with ramp will be opened to the basement of Seafora; District High School so farm mach- inery can be taken in for classes, Miss Yvonne Bolton, Hamilton, spent the weekend with her parents Mr, and Mrs, L. Bolton. Mr, Robt, Ormand is spending three weeks vacation in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. James Quinlan, Ham- ilton, were weekend visitors at the home of Mr. John Quinlan, Miss Josephine McIver, Sarnia, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and; Mrs, Peter McIver. Mr. and Mrs. E. Dennis, Detroit, with her grandmother, Mrs. N, Dunn over the weekend. Seaforth Bantams won the champ- ionship, defeating Wingham 4-3 on Tuesday night. Seaforth Juniors won the series with Grimsby, score 8-3 Tuesday, CONSTANCE The Friendly Few Farm Forum met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Leitch on Monday night with an attendance of 20 and some child- ren. Topic for discussion was "Do we need more Immigrants". After the discussion period euchre was played with card prizes going to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Jewitt; consolation, ;Mrs. Frank Riley and John. McDoug- all. Refreshments were served. Next meeting to be at the home of Mr, and Mrs. John McIlwain. Mr. and MTs. John Davidson and son Andrew were guests for dinner on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lawson. Mr. and Mrs. George Carter visit- ed with Mr. and Mrs. James Medd on Sunday. Mrs. Lavina Lawson, who has been a patient in Clinton Hospital for the past three or four months has suf- ficiently recovered to be moved to the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John David- son, Huron Road. Quite a number from this vicinity attended the funeral of the late Mrs. McBrien at the Anglican Church, •Clinton, on Saturday. We desire to extend sympathy to tho bereaved ones. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Buchanan and family of Nilestown were guests on -Sunday of the former's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Alf Buchanan. TUCKERSMITH . Mr. 0. L.
