of their eldest daughter, Ruth Hazel,
to Mr. Arnold Lloyd Makins, only

of Bayfield. The marriage will take
place Feb. 9, in Hamilton Road Pres-
byterian Church.

The Sunday School are holding a
social evening in the church on Fri-
day evening, Jan. 25. A short pro-
gram will be given followed by films
depicting a bus trip shown by Mr.
James Scott of Seaforth. Lunch will
be served.
Mrs. Joe Riley was Hostess on
Tuesday afternoon at her home to
the members of group 1. The after-
noon was spent in quilting. A pot-
luck supper was served.
The Friendly Few Farm Forum
met at the home of Mr. and Mgrs.
Bill Dale on Monday, with an attend-
ance of 27. The topic for discussion
was "What is wrong with our farm
Organization?" Progressive euchre
was played, first prize going to Mrs.
John McDougall and Mr. James
Flynn; consolation to Helen Mc-
liwain and Marie Dale. Next Monday
night the forum meets at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lawson.
Mrs. Robt. Grirnoldby is at present
a guest at the home of her nephew
and niece Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mann.

their first meeting of the year with
the topic "Power, Word—Repent-
ence" presented by Ronald Hinz and
Raymond Gloor, and the discussion
was led by Rev. Becker. It was de-
cided that the league buy a guest

TUCKERSMITH
The Tuckersmith Ladies' Club
held their January meeting at the
home of Mrs. Alden 'Crich with an
excellent attendance. The president,
Mrs. Bert Garrett was in charge, as-
sisted by the members of group 1.
The meeting was opened in the usu-
al manner. The roll call was answer-
ed with "One of my nicest Xmas
boxes." Membership fees were paid.
A good program was enjoyed which
consisted of a reading by Mrs. How-
ard Johns, A contest by Mrs. War-
ren Whitmore, a reading by Mrs.
Don Crich and a contest by Mrs. W.
Roberts. There were several busi-
ness discussions after which the
meeting was closed -with the Home-
makers prayer in unison. A delicious
lunch was served by the hostess and
members of group 1.
The next meeting is to be held at
the home -of Mrs. Warren Gibbings
on Feb. 6. Roll call is "What you
