Mr. and Mrs. E. Larone attended the funeral of Mrs. D. Sinclair on Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Manace, Pa. The Seaforth and District Minis- terial Association will meet TuesdaY, Jan, 15, 10 a,m., at St. Thomas Rectory. Miss Mildred McNichol of Strat- ford and Mrs. jack Caldwell and Mrs. Harry Beavers of Exeter were guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Sproat. Miss Mary Hagan returned to Es- sex after spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Hagan. Mrs, Joseph Eckert and Miss Gerry Eckert, Hawkesville, spent the week- end at their home here. Miss Jean Turner, Toronto, spent the weekend with friends here. Miss Mary Ryan has returned to her studies at 'the o.C.E., Toronto, after holidaying with her aunt, Mrs. Thos. O'Loughlin, Miss Angela Morris, who spent three weeks holidays with her moth- er, other, Mrs, Josephine Morris, returned to Owen Sound. Mrs. Alice Stiles is spending three weeks holidays with her sist- ers in Kitchener, Sarnia, Toronto and Perth. . Tpr. Hicknell T. F, has returned to Fort Churchill, Manitoba, after a two month leave at his home in Sea - forth. Miss Marie Hieknell, Chatham and Tpr. Hieknell T. F. spent Christmas with their father, Mr. Thomas Hiek- nell, Seaforth. Miss Bee Finnigan and Miss Nancy Nott spent the Christmas holi- daysin Hamilton wi"th Mr .and Mrs. Art Edmunds and family. The L.O.B.A. intend holding an other series of euehres every three weeks, the first on Friday, January 25, Feb. 15, March 7 and March 28. MRS. ROBERT BOYD The death occurred on Wednesday of Agnes Carnochan, widow of the Late Robert Boyd, in her 82nd year. Mrs. Bpyd had been in failing health for the past two months, and had been in the hospital for a few weeks. Born in Tuckersmith in 1871, she had lived all her life in this vicinity. In 1906 she was married in Egmond- ville Manse to Mr. Boyd, who passed away in 1943. Surviving are a step- son, Ross A. Boyd, Vancouver, B.C.,. two brothers, John Carnochan, of Ethel, and William. Carnochan, of Linwood, and a half-brother, James Carnochan, Listowel, and three half- sisters, Mrs. Hone, Listowel; Mrs. Mary Gill, Ethel, and Mrs. Wilson, Burk's Falls. Deceased was a mem- ber of Northside United Church. Funeral services were held Saturday from the G. A. Whitney Funeral Home at 2 p.m., with Rev. D. A. MacMillan conducting the service. Interment in Maitlandbank cemetery The pallbearers were: John Boyd, Wm. Boyd, Chas. Boyd, Willis Dun- das, Messrs. Carnochan.' Mr. Thos. Aldington has received I'""" a letter of acknowledgment from! WILLIAM PEARSON William Pearson, 77, died sudden- ly Saturday at his home here. Born in Stanley township, he was married in Clinton in 1903 to •the former Vine Woodyard. His wife died 19 years ago. Surviving are two daugh- ters, Mrs. Hartman Hiusser and Mrs. Charles Pinder, both of Seaforth; one sister, Mrs. William McClusky, an8 a half-sister, Mrs. F. Morton, both of New Westminster, B.C.; and two half-brothers, Carl Williams, Winnipeg, and David Williams, of St. Clements, near Kitchener. Mr. Pearson lived here 50 years as a woodworker before retiring four years ago. He was a member of Eg- mondville United Church. Service was held Tuesday, at 2 p.m. at the G. A. Whitney funeral home, Goderich St. West, with Rev. A. W. Gardiner of- ficiating. Interment in Maitlandbank Cemetery. The •pallbearers were: Albert Baker, John Eisler Sr., John Earl, James Barry, Homer Hunt, J. Carnochan. Flowerbearers were: Bill Miller, Norman Scoins, Ken Powell, Lawr- ence Marks, Ken Huisser. PATRICK WILLIAMS Patrick Williams, 81, who died at his home, con. 5, Hibbert twp., had farmed there almost 50 years. His early life was spent in Tuckersmith Township. He was a member of St. Columban Church. Surviving besides his wife, • for- merly Mary Walsh, are six sons, John, Detroit; Joseph, Flint; Daniel, Maryland, Wash.; Frank, Hibbert; Michael, Tuckersmith; Thomas, on the home farm; four daughters, Mrs. William McMillan, Hibbert; Mrs. Al- fred Keeney, Niagara Falls, Ont.; Mrs. Margaret McMillan, Flint; Mrs. Alfred Riches, Brantford; one bro- ther, Daniel, Florida; one sister, Mrs. John .McGrath, Lucan; and 19 grandchildren.
