DEMAND FOR HYDRO FROM ALL CLASSES
OF CONSUMERS CONTINUES TO RISE !
The Ontario Hydro -Electric Power Commission, in a message to the
Seaforth Commission, points out that consumption has reached
an all-time high, and that co-operation of consumers in conserving
energy is necessary in order to ensure continued service without
rationing.
Your Commission urges, therefore,
that each consumer in Seaforth, dur-
ing the next eight-week period —
the critical period— undertake a pro-
gram of voluntary conservation, par-
ticularly between the hours of 11
a.m. to 12 a.m. noon, and 4 p.m. to
6 p.m.
A CONTINUANCE OF THE ALL-OUT SUPPORT AND ICO -OPERATION
YOU HAVE GIVEN THE COMMISSION ON PAST OCCASIONS
IS URGED DURING THE COMING WEEKS !

SCHOOL NEWS
We spent a few hours after four
one day last week shovelling off a
local pond. That evening• some good
fellows, the sports around „tow,
helped to flood it. Then our luck
turned and the storm put a damper
on our skating. Things are looking
up now though.
Practice is in full swing for our
Christmas concert '(on the 21st).
Many of the players know their parts
already — congrat u l a t i o ns! We
thought things were bad when the
girls started singing but apparently
the boys sound worse, or do they?
After the first practice one of our
teachers came in and told us, quite
confidentially that she was sure the
train had jumped the tracks, well
boys?
The Athletic Association dance on
Thursday night made Friday a tough
day for some of the students. The
tired, bleary, out -all-night look in
the eyes of the revellers told plainly
who they were.
The suspense is over, or should I
say, just beginning, concerning the
exams, the date is set for Dec. 15th,
A small amount of intensive study is
being done already and we hope this
amount will increase as the time of
preparation shortens, Maybe we'll all
get high marks for Christmas pre-
sents !! Who knows?
Maurice Dillon and his associates,
Helen Nolan, Alice Feeney, Kathleen
Roach and Paul Kramers raised a to-
tal of eleven dollars during Novem-
ber for our Mission Society. This
month Ron Butters hopes everyone
has a generous Christmas spirit as
he is out to better the Dillon record.

The Voice Of Temperance
In 1934 beverage rooms were
opened in Ontario. It was affirmed
that more beer drinking would re-
sult in less hard liquor drinking.
There would be less drunkenness
and boot -legging would disappear.
After 15 years what are the
facts? There has been more beer
drinking by 533%r.. Contrary to
promises there, has also been more
hard liquor drinking by 300%.
There has also been more convec-
tions for drunkenness by 269%
and more convictions of drunken-
ness among women. by 243%.
