The crane is equipment of the Department of Ilighways. C KTISTE LAKE REGATTA. Bill Hodson on the bow of his speedy little craft has just com- pleted a tuueup for the next heat. The boat races were not the only attraction. The two pretty mermaids above, who are summer residents of Bancroft entered the girls' one-quarter mile swimming race. Left to right are Shirley Howes and Shirley Robertson. They placed first and second respectively. Two boys have selected the best vantage point, but not the coolest. Looking from the railway tracks paralleling the shore line of Lake Baptiste, th e power boats are just a line of foam and spray as they circle the marker buoys. Along the far shore line can be seen stunner co ttages with the heavy forest their background.
