CROMARTY Caught by a mangled right arm in a hay -baling machine and with flames threatening his life, Stanley Hocking, 51 -year-old farmer, had a narrow escape on his district farm after the red-hot machine had ignited nearby hay. The man was trapped for half an hour. A Mitchell doctor performed an emergency amputation at the scene of the mishap and the injured man, who was working alone in the field, was rushed to Stratford General Hospital where he was reported to be resting comfortably this morning. He also suffered third degree burns to the shoulder and part of the head. Donald and William Hocking found the trapped man.
