A turkey dinner was held on Sun-
day afternoon by Mr. and .Mrs. Frank
Sills Sr. in honor of their sou and
daughter-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Sills who are moving to British Col-
umbia this week. Mr. Tom Sills was
presented with a pen and pencil set
by the members of St. James' Choir.
Mr. P. Taber, Detroit, spent the
weekend with Mrs. Taber and family
who are holidaying here.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Counter, Mr.
and Mrs. Lyle Jordan of Toronto,
Mrs, William Byrne of Detroit visited
Mrs. Leo Fortune.
Miss Rose Mary Byrne of Detroit

The regular monthly meeting of the
Hullett Township Council was held
on Jitly 3 in the community hall at
Londeeboro at 7 ptn. The Reeve and
all members of the council present,
The minutes of the special matting
of June 26 were read.
Motion, by Tont Leiper and W. R.
Jewitt, that we give a grant of $35 to
the Seafprth Agricultural Society. At
this time the township accident in-
surance was discussed. Three agents
spoke to the council, Mr. Bernard
Hall, Mr. Jack Howard, Mr. Frank
Cowan, Motion by•Geo. C. Brown and
W. R. Jewitt, that we take a compre-
hensive policy with General Accident
Insurance Co. for $269.51 premium
with limits of ten, fifty and one hund-
red thousand dollars and the policy
be placed with Bernard Hall, Blyth.
At this time Mr. George Radford
was heard regarding the building of a
township garage to hold the township
machinery. Mr. Radford discussed
plans and expenditure. This was laid
over for a special meeting.

Brown, that we adjourn to meet on
July 10th to read the report on the
Raithby Municipal Drain and general
business. Accounts — Salaries, $102.-
75;
102:75; supplies $2.81; hospitalization
$6.70; grants $35; sheep valuator. 3.90;
drains 5203; road account 56,801,64.
A special meeting of the Hullett
Township Council was held July 10
in the community hall at Londesboro
at 9 pin for the purpose of reading
the engineers' report on the Raithby
Municipal drain and general business,
The Reeve and all members of the
council were present. The minutes of
the regular 'meeting of July 3 read.
The Engineer's report on the Raith-
by drain was then read. A majority
of the ratepayers on this drain were
in attendance. After discussing dif-
ferent portions of the report the fol_
lowing motion was presented.
Moved by Geo. C. Brown and Archie
Young, that we provisionally adopt
the engineer's report on the Raithby
drain. The Clerk to have the bylaws
printed and hold a court of revision
0u August 21 at 9 pun.
A letter was read from the Clinton
Women's Institute regarding the
Area History Book for Old Honme
Week. Moved by W. R. Jewitt and
Toni Leiper that we buy one page of
advertising in the Clinton Women's
' Institute old horse week book. The
Clerk to draft a suitable ad for the
township. Moved by Tont Leiper and
Archie Young, that we take nut in-
surance with the Howick Fire incur-
anee Co. for $11.000 oil the hall and
$3,500 on the content;.
--Moved by w. R. Jewitt and Tom
Leiper that we buy a lot from Gor-
don Radford fifty feet wide and the
full depth of lot for the suer of 817:1.
