A reception was held in Walton
Community hall on Friday night in
honor of Mr, and Mrs. Nelson '%%larks
of Walton. The following address was
read by Barry Marshall. Dear Nelson
and Maxine: Just ons week ago we
met in this hall in honor of one of
our young ladies who was removed
from our midst by a certain youth

in our community and we welcome
you to our village. We feel sure Nel-
son has made no mistake in his choice
of a life partner. To you 'both we
wish to say; As you climb the hills of
the coming years, may you travel in
high and never shift gears; with
plenty of spark and never a knock,
with joy filling. stations in every
block. On behalf of your friends and
neighbors we ask you to accept this
gift and aur good wishes for a long
and happy married life, Ronnie Ben-
nett presented their with a well-
filled purse of money and Herb Travis
presented them with a card table on
behalf of the Walton football team.
Nelson replied in a few well-chosen
words. An evening of dancing follow-
ed with music supplied by Wilhee's
Orchestra.

pital on Saturday, July 8, 1950, to

Miss Shirley Riehl was successful
• in obtaining first class honors in Gr.
1V piano, and Laureen Doeerr passed
in Grade II Violin exams. They are
pupils of Miss Joy McNaughton.
•Mr. Calvin Diegel was successful
in obtaining firste lass honors in Gr.
VI theory and honors in Grade VI
piano. He is a pupil of Mrs. W. W.
Burgess.
Miss Maureen Hinz was successful
in obtaining honors in Grade VI
piano. She is a pupil of Eloise
Werner.
The death occurred in Seaforth
Hospital on Tuesday morning of
Adam Sholdice, father of Russell
Sholdiee, in his 37th year.

The Londesboro Church Sunday
School held their annual strawberry
social and entertainment on Tuesday
evening, July 4th. The evening was
ideal for such a gathering. The sup-
per was held in the Community hall
from 5:30 to 8 o'clock, the tables
were laden with an abundance of
good things including strawberries
and cream which the crowd enjoyed
to the full. After supper was over,
"Henpecked Henry" a three -act Play
presented by the Y.P, U. of Duff'.
Church, Walton, was enjoyed. The
Play was quite humorous which
created nanny good laughs. Miss
Phyllis 1VIeCool and Miss Dorene
Armstrong sang two solos each be-
tween acts, Proceeds of the evening
was over $200„
Mr. and Mrs. A. Fangrad and fam-
ily spent Dominion Day at Ipperwash
Beach attending the Hogarth reunion,
Mrs. E. Pollard spent a few days
with Brussels friends this week.
Mrs. Millie Partlow and Mrs, V.
Townsend, Toronto, visited the week-
end with Mrs. Frank Wood and other
friends. Mrs, {Rev.)- Bz'enton has
been confined to her home with an
attack of measles, we wish her a
speedy recovery.
