with a silver cream and sugar set by
the choir of St. Janes' Church,
Mr, and Mrs. 'William Hart spent
the week end at their cottage in Bay -

and Mrs. James Hogg visited with
friends in Collingwood over the week
end.
Miss June Shaw, Wiudsor, is holi-
daying with her parents Mr. and Mrs,
W. R, Shaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Archibald, Cha-
tham, visited Mr, and Mrs. Robert
Archibald over the week end.
Mr, Alex McKenzie of Orillie was
a holiday visitor in town.

ors at the home of Mr. and Mrs, E. L.

the week end with her brother and

Rev. Thomas McQuaid, Searboro
Bluffs, Toronto, visited last week
with his mother, Mrs. Joseph Mc-
Quaid, and also with relatives in town.
Mrs. J. H. Vinson, Penticton, B.C„
is visiting her sister Mrs, W. Web-
ster. Mrs. Vinson left Seaforth as a
bride, and has since lived in British
Columbia. This is her third visit to
her home town and she finis Seaforth
looks better than ever.
Miss Terry McIver is attending
Queen's University in Kingston for
one month's summer course. Miss
Margaret McIver, Kitchener, spent,
the week end with her parents Mr.
and Mrs. Peter McIver.
Miss Lenore Habkirk and Miss
Joanne McMillan spent the holiday
week end in Bayfield.
Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Reilly and Mr,
and Mrs. J. J. Reilly, Galt, were week
end visitors at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. John Hotham. Jr.

to spend a few holidays with then.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dale, Linda and
Rodney, of Burlington, visited the
former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Dale on Thursday night, enroute to
Wasaga Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. George Pinder of
Welland and two daughters visited his
uncle and aunt, Dr, and Mrs. Har-
burn and his brother Charles and fam-
ily, over the week end.
Mr, Clarence Trott is attending the
six -weeks summer school course at
the University of Western Ontario.
Miss Ernestine White, Toronto, is
visiting her mother Mrs. A. White.
Miss Jessie Finlayson is spending
her vacation with her parents in
Hgmondville.
Miss Georgina Hogg of Collingwood
is visiting .her aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. James Hogg.

Mra, J. Smith
The death occurred in Varna at
her home on Wednesday, June 28, of
Marion Agnes Fisher, wife of Mr, 3,
F. Smith, after an illness of three
and a half years. Mrs. Smith was the
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.
h, Fisher and was born in IVloosejaw,
Sask. She was in her 31th year., She
leaves to mourn, her husband, Mr, J.
F. Smith, three daughters and four
sons Mr's. Harry Cudmore of Holmes-
ville, Mrs, Lorne Elliott of Walton
and Gertrude at home, John Smith of
Godcriehl Walter, Frank, and Nor-
man all at home and eight grand-
children. One sister, Miss Leonie
Fisher of Cleveland, Ohio The funer-
al was held from the Varna Angli-
can Church on Friday afternoon with
Rev, L. Morgan officiating. The
flowerbearers were Watson Webster,

flowers when Rev. Reba Hern united
in marriage Doris Elizabeth Mar-
guerite Clark, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William J. Clark, Stanley, to
Lloyd Ervin Sillery, son of Mr. and
Mrs, Norris Sillery, Tuckersmith.
Mrs. Bruce Keys was at the organ.
Mrs. Clare McBride played trumpet
solo, "0 Promise Me" before the
ceremony and `Because" during the
signing of the register.
Given in marriage by her father
the bride was gowned in white slip-
per satin with long lily -point sleeves.
The tightly fitted 'bodice was em-
broidered with seed pearls, chantilly
lace yoke and peplum extending into
a short train. Her finger tip veil of
French illusion edgeih with imported
ea
lace,fell from a seed r1 crown
studed with rhinestones. The bride
wore a heirloom brooch worn by her
mother on her wedding day. She car-
ried a cascade bouquet of pink roses
and stephanotis. Miss Kathleen Sil-
lery, sister of the groom, as maid of
honor, chose a pastel green gown of
swiss embroidered eyelet styled with
brief sleeves and full skirt, Her tulle
hat and mittens matched her gown.
She carried -a nosegay of pink roses
and white stephanotis. 'Miss Irene
Clarke, cousin of the bride, wore
yellow swiss eyelet fashioned simi-
lar to that of the maid -of -honor with
yellow tulle hat and mittens, she car-
ried a nosegay of yellow roses and
white stephanotis. Lorne Aiken, Dub-
lin, was groomsman and James 'Keys,
Varna, and Chester Sturdy, Goderich,
were ushers.
Mrs. Clark received at the Little
Inn, Bayfield, wearing a navy blue
tissue faille dress and deft blue and
navy accessories and corsage of past-
el pink carnations. Mrs. Norris Sillery
assisted wearing a grey printed crepe
dress wibh white accessories and cor-
sage of pink carnations
For the wedding trip to Niagara,
Toronto and 'U.S.A. the bride donned
a gray English wool flannel suit with
pink and navy accessories and cor-
sage of pink carnations.
Prior to their marriage Doris and
Ervin were presented with a white
Bible in the Goshen United Church,
which they jointly carried at their
wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Sillery will
make their home on the groom's farm
in Tuckersmith.
HIBBERT -
Hibbert Township Council met on
July 3rd in regular session in the
Staffa township hall with all mem-
bers present, the Reeve, Mr. Frank
Allan, presiding. The clerk read the
minutes of the previous meeting
which were adopted as read. A reso-
lution was passed to negotiate with
the Hydro Electric Power Commis-
sion of Ontario for street lighting in
the hamlet of Cromarty.

Municipal drain. There were three
tenders and after considering same,
'Mr. Anson Ehgoetz was awarded the
contract; Liffe $879.00; Geary Cook
drain and extension $1989.00; Me -
Curdy $595.00. A donation of $100.
was granted to the Manitoba Flood
Relief Fund. Bylaw 19, appointing
Mr. Thomas Laing as Weed Inspector
was given its third and final reading
and passed.
ARTHUR L. HULLEY
Services for Arthur L. Hulley, 86,
who died in London, were conducted
by Rev. S. T. Heslop, in Paris, and
interment made in Paris Cemetery.
Mr. Hulley was horn in Seaforth
and attended Paris schools. He re-
sided with his sister, Mrs. N. Cutting,
Paris, and was a member of St, Paul's
United Church.
Surviving are four brothers, Gerald,
South Dumfries Tp.; Joseph, Clinton;
Thomas and Nelson, Paris; and six
sisters, Mrs, F. Moriarity, Windsor;
Mrs. W. Willets, Brantford; Mrs. J.
Uttley and Mrs, R. Drouillard, St.,
Marys, Mrs. N. Cutting and Hazel.

It is contrary to the By -Laws of the
Town of Seaforth to put garbage and
glass of any kind in outdoor or indoor
toilets and closets.
The Council has had several com-
plaints regarding this practice and if
continued the services of the Town
Scavenger will be denied the offenders.
