Long,who passed away on June 0th.

and Mrs. Maurice Melady are to at-
tend the Diocesan Convention in
Goderich. The meeting closed with

'The June meeting of the Bethel
W. A. and W.M.S. was held at the
home of Mrs, Wnt, Dennis. Mrs.
Leonard Leeming had charge of the
devotional part of the meeting. The
meeting opened with singing "I
heard the voice of Jesus say" and
prayer. The 2,3rd psalm was read re-
sponsively and Mrs. Charlie Boyd
read the scripture .lesson taken from
Luke. Hymn 380 was sung. The
Temperance secretary gave a reading.
A solo "Watch and Pray" was sung
by Mrs. Stanley Millen. The report of
the London Conference Branch meet-
ing of the W.M.S. was given by Ethel
Dennis showing how the work of the
W.M.S. has advanced in the 25 years
of union. The theme for the meeting
"Faith for all Time", and the need
was stressed for more enthusiasm if
we are to keep on advancing. The
convention hymn 415 was sung,
Sending a member to the school for
leaders was discussed. The devotional
part of the meeting concluded by
singing "Blest be the tie that Binds".
The business of the W.A, was con-
ducted 'by the president, Mrs. C.
Boyd. The minutes were read and
adopted and the roll called With sev-
eral visitors present, The clothing
for overseas relief was,brought in and
a donation of $15 made to the IVlant-
toba Relief Fund, The program com-
mittee to plan a lawn social, Mrs. L.
Learning, Mrs. Alex Dennis, Mi's. D.
McNichol Jr,, and Mrs. Wm. ,Dennis.
The offering was received and the
meeting closed with singing and the
benediction, A baking sale concluded

The W.M.IS. and W.A. of Cavan,
Winthrop, held a special meeting in
the church on Wed, June 7th, when
they entertained the ladies from
Egmondville and Walton United
Church, Mrs. K. Beattie and "Mrs.
Les Pepper received the guests at the
door, The' guest speaker was Lieut.
Morrow, of the Salvation,Army, Sea -
forth Mrs. E. Toll presided. :The
theme of the meeting was "The Joy
of God". The scripture lesson was
read by Mrs. H. Rapson after which
:Mrs. L. Bolton led in prayer. The
words of welcome were extended by
Mrs, W. Church. We were then favor-
ed with a solo by Mrs, Smalldon of
Walton, "Are you dwelling today
where God answers prayer?" The
topic was given by Lieut Morrow on
"What does the Word of God mean
to you?" Mrs. Andrew McLellan of
Egmondville gave a very suitable
reading entitled "It is better to wear
out, than rust out". We were then
favored with a duet by Mrs. Harvey
Dolmage and Mrs. G. Blanchard, "I
need Jesus", The words of apprecia-
tion were given by 'Mrs. A. Ross, Mrs.
Wm, Dodds closed the meeting with
prayer. Following the worship period
a bazaar and social .time were held in
the schoolroom. -

Sunday School and congregational
picnic of Cavan Church will be held
in the Lions Park, Seaforth, Satur-
day, June 17. Lunch will consist of
sandwiches, cakes, cookies and tarts.

James MoClure on Sunday.
The W.M.IS. and W.A. of Cavan,
Winthrop, held a special meeting in
the church on Wed, June 7th, when
they entertained the ladies from
Egmondville and Walton United
Church, Mrs. K. Beattie and "Mrs.
Les Pepper received the guests at the
door, The' guest speaker was Lieut.
Morrow, of the Salvation,Army, Sea -
forth Mrs. E. Toll presided. :The
theme of the meeting was "The Joy
of God". The scripture lesson was
read by Mrs. H. Rapson after which
:Mrs. L. Bolton led in prayer. The
words of welcome were extended by
Mrs, W. Church. We were then favor-
ed with a solo by Mrs, Smalldon of
Walton, "Are you dwelling today
where God answers prayer?" The
topic was given by Lieut Morrow on
"What does the Word of God mean
to you?" Mrs. Andrew McLellan of
Egmondville gave a very suitable
reading entitled "It is better to wear
out, than rust out". We were then
favored with a duet by Mrs. Harvey
Dolmage and Mrs. G. Blanchard, "I
need Jesus", The words of apprecia-
tion were given by 'Mrs. A. Ross, Mrs.
Wm, Dodds closed the meeting with
prayer. Following the worship period
a bazaar and social .time were held in
the schoolroom. -
