The United Ohurch parsonage,
Clinton, was the scene of a prettY
wedding on Saturday, April 8, when
Doris .Merle, only daughter of John
G. Mann and the late Mrs. Mann of
Hallett was united in marriage to
Donald George Lamont, of 'Goderich,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lamont
of McKillop. Rev. W. J. Woolfrey
performed the double ring ceremony,
The bride looked lovely in a floor -
length gown of white silk jersey with
long bishop sleeves, buttoned at the
wrists. Her three-quarter length veil
was held in place with a halo of
white ostrich feathers. She carried
American Beauty Roses. Miss Jean
Flynn, Seaforth, as bridesmaid. wore
a floor -length gown of pink sheer,
and a shoulder length veil of pink
net held in place with flowers. She
carried Talisman roses. ,Mr. Charles
Shelton of Goderich was groomsman.
A reception was held at the bride's
home to •about 22 guests, Assisting
in serving were Mrs. Ken Betties,
Mrs. Joe Flynn, Mrs. Lorene Gard-
iner. Following the reception the
couple left on a motor trip through
southern Ontario, For travelling the
bride donned a navy blue dress, grey
topcoat and matching accessories. On
their return they will reside in God-
erich. Guests were present from
Hamilton, Galt, Stratford, Seaforth,
Brussels and Wingham.

Easter services were celebrated in
the churches in the village. St. An-
drews United and Trinity Anglican
services were held at 11 a.m. at
Trinity Church the celebration of
Holy !Communion was held during the
offertory. Mrs. M. Corrie and Mrs.
E. H. Hovey sang "I walked the path
that Jesus trod". In Knox Presby-
terian, service was held at 3 p.m.
Mis E. A. Featherston left on
!Sunday to spend a week in Sarnia.

'Mr. Hugh Gilmour has sold his
residence on Louisa St. to Mr. Rob-
ert Turner. who will take possession
shortly.
Messrs E. and G. Weston, who
have conducted a bakery and grocery
business here for the past four
Years, have sold their business to Mr,
H. Kingsbury, of Lucknow, who
takes pop'ssession on April 12th, the
many friends of the 'Weston's are
sorry to see them leave and wish
.them luck in any enterprise they un-
dertake in the future.
HULLETT
Peter Papineau, well-known and
highly respected resident of Strath-
roy passed away suddenly at his
home on Friday, April 7th in his
89th year. Mr, Papineau was united
in marriage to Jane Clarke, Decem-
ber list, 1892, who survives, also
one daughter Mrs. Pearl Tull of Mt.
I3rydges two grandsons, Clarke of
Mt, 13rydges and Edwin of London.
Mr, rapinoari was well-known in
this district, having farmed with Mr.
Wm Thompson of •McKillop and
later was employed with the cheese
factory which used to operate south
of the village of Constance, Mr, and
Mrs, Papineau moved to Strathroy
where they have resided for the past
43 years. Mr. Papineau was employed
as night watchman for the Canadian
Canneries Ltd, He was a faithful
member of the United Church.
