Amber Lodge Holds
Christmas Party
The Amber Rebekah Lodge
No. 349 held their regular meet-
ing on Wednesday evening, fol-
lowed by their 'Christmas party.
Lodge opened in regular form
with the N.G., Miss Mabel
Whiteman in the chair, There
was a large attendance of mem-
hers. Cards of greeting wore re-
ceived from the various lodges,
It was voted by the lodge to
have a social evening at the last
meeting of the month. Gifts
were presented to he sent to the
Children's AM Society at Goder-
ich. Mrs. Illeen Ronnie moved a
vote of thanks to the committee
in charge or arranging the beau-
tifully decorated tree and the
impromptu programme which
followed, Mrs. Mary Jaeobi pre-
sided and, called on Miss Mattis
Ellis who read the 2nd chapter
of Luke, verses 1-20. Mrs. Eve-
lyn Macl3eath gave a reading
entitled "Let's Keep Christmas".
Mrs. Henrietta Brown sang a de -
rightful solo "A White 'Christ -
was." Mrs. Olive Kyle gave a
reading entitled the "Day After
Christmas". Mrs. Hazel McEwen
favored with a vocal solo entitled
"Santa Claus is Coming to
Town". Mrs. Pearl Shaddick,
Mrs. Edith Bell and Mrs. Rose
Broderick assisted Mrs. Jacobi
in distributing the gifts from
the tree. A delicious luncheon
was served.

Thomas Turnbull Knox
Thomas Turnbull Knox, pas-
sed away suddenly from a heart
attack at his residence Lot 9,
Con. 10, Grey twp., on Monday,
Dec. 13th, in his 74th year.
A. native of Howiek township,
he was the son of the late Adam
Knox and Agnes Turnbull He
was a resident of Grey township
for almost his entire life. He was
an adherent of the United
Church, His only surviving rela-
tive is a brother, Wm. Knox of
Grey. Three sisters predeceased
him.
The funeral service was held
from the D. A. Rann funeral
home, Brussels, at 2 p.m. on
Thursday, Dec. 1fith, with Rev.
M. Thomas of Duff's United
Church, Walton, officiating.
Pallbearers were Leslie Oliver,
Bert Johnston, Everett Perdue,
Jas. Smith, and William and An-
drew Turnbull.
Floral tributes were carried by
Wm, Broadhagen, and Alvin Mc-
Donald. Interment was int Brus-
sels Cemetery.

The December meeting of the
C.W.L. of Dublin was held in
the 'Continuation School an Fri-
day evening with 17 members
Present, The president, Mrs. Earl
Healy opened the meeting with
prayer, The minutes of the pre-
vious meeting were read by the
secretary, Miss Margaret Flana-
gan, Mrs, Louis Looby, treasurer,
presented the financial state-
ment, The correspondence was
read by Mrs. William O'Rourke.
Mrs. John Flannery presented
an interesting report on the
meeting which three members of
the executive had attended in
Stratford, Mrs. Tom flutters
read an interesting article from
the League Magazine. Lunch was
served and a social hour was en-
joyed.

A meeting of the electors of the Town-
ship of McKillop will be held at Wing
throp Hall on Monday, Dec. 27, 1064, for
the purpose of nominating a Reeve and
