spent a few days with Mrs, Moyer's

family of Wingham visited on Sun-
day with Mrs. R. McBride.
Mrs. A. Parsons and Mrs. A. Gack-
stetter attended the shower in hon-
or of Miss Margaret Blanchard,
bride -elect, in Exeter on Wednesday
evening.
Anniversary Services
Anniversary Services were well
` attended in St. Andrew's United
Church on Sunday. The guest speak-
er at both services was Rev. Howard
Dickinson, B,A., of North Street
United Church, Goderich. Special
music was furnished by the choir un-
der the leadership of Miss Jean Ivi-
son, who chose for their morning
anthem, "I Was Glad". In the even-
ing they sang "Praise Jehovah's
Name". Mrs, Wm. Elliott of Parkhill
was guest soloist at the morning ser-
vice and sang 'How Lovely Are Thy
Dwellings" and "Jesus Lover of my
Soul". The guest soloist at the even-
ing service was Mr. Al Merrill of
Clinton, who sang "Living For
Jesus".
WMS and WA Meet
The WMS met recently at the
home of Mrs. Emerson Kyle for their
Oct. meeting with Mrs. N, McLeod
as Co Hostess. The meeting was pre-
sided over by Mrs. Emerson Ander-
son and opened with hymn 445. The
worship period was in charge of Mrs.
Norman Dickert. Minutes of the last
meeting were read and adopted. A
musical number was given by Mrs.
Harold Jones, Mrs. J. Love and Miss
Edith Love with Miss Love accomp-
anying on the guitar. 28 members
answered the roll call and there were
10 visitors. Mrs. Wni. Caldwell re-
ported for the visiting committee
having made five calls. Mrs, Emer-
son Anderson and Mrs. John Ander-
son are the visiting committee for
October, The Thankoffering and
regular offering were taken. Ar-
rangements were made to accept an
invitation to join the ladies of Duff's
.Church for their Oct. meeting. Mrs.
Carl McClinchey and Mrs. J. W. Mc-
Lean were appointed delegates to
the Sectional meeting of the Huron
Presbyterial to be held in Greenway,
'Oct. 20. The managers' wives are to
be responsible for the flowers in the
church for the month. Plans were
made for the birthday party to be
held in the church in Novemberwhen
there will be visiting Auxiliaries.
The Nominating Committees were
appointed namely: For officers -
Mrs, Bert Faber, Mrs. Allan John-
son, Mfrs. John Anderson. For pro-
grams -Mrs. N. IDickert, 14Irs. R. M.
Peck, Mrs. E. McBride,
Another musical member was en-
toyed by Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Love and
Miss 2 study s. Edith Lave. The st dy was in
charge of Mrs. John Anderson. Mrs,
Emerson Anderson gave a poem on
Thanksgiving, Mrs. Emerson Kyle
thanked all for 'taking part in her
meeting. Mrs. Harold Jones extend-
ed a vote of thanks tothe hostess,
Mrs. Kyle and Co hostess, Mrs. Mc-
Leod. The closing hymn was 494 and
the Benediction by Mrs, Anderson.
A short W. A. meeting followed
when further plans were made for
the annual bazaar to be held Novem-
ber 20th,

Mr. Lloyd Pfefer, who is working
with a construction Co„ now at Or-
angeville, spent the weekend with his
parents, Mr, and Mrs, Ad Pfeifer,
Mr, and Mrs. John Arbuckle and
family with Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Querengesser, Mitchell, on Sunday.
Mrs, John Elligson with Mrs, An-
nie Eliigson.
Relatives here received word of
the death of IL Nelson Anderson,
husband of the former 'Georgene
Querengesser, former resident here,
now of Windsor, in his 52nd year,
He is survived by his wife and one
son David at home; three daughters,
Emelene and Donna at home, and
Mrs, Cecil LaPetisee ('Gloria) of Es-
sex, Ont., and three grandchildren,
Christine, Dennis and 'Brenda La -
Pensee, and two sisters.
The funeral was held from the
Andrews Funeral Home, Oulette Av-
enue, Windsor, on Monday after-
noon.
VARNA
Funeral service for James Edward
Stephenson of Varna, who died in his
86th year in the Clinton Public Hos-
pital, Monday night, will be held at
the Ball and Match funeral home on
Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. R.M.P. Bul-
teel of St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Clinton, will conduct the services,
and burial will be made in the Bay-
field cemetery.
