nia. About 40 of the relatives sat

TURNER'S PICNIC
The annual picnic of Turner's
Sunday School was held at Jowett's
Grove, Bayfield on Thursday, July
22nd with a good attendance. A. full
programme of sports was carried out
after which a game of ball was en-
joyed. The day was brought to a
close by everyone sitting down to a
bounteous picnic supper. Results of

might have shifted as the truck ap-
proached the bridge on 0 slight grade.
The 16 foot bridge buckled and the
truck plunged five feet to the river,
landing upside dorm. Both doors
jammed. trapping Beer in the cab. He
escaped with a soaking and a shaking
up. The Kinloss township bridge is
about three miles southeast of Holy -
rood.

CRIC•H REUNION
The 19th Annual Crich Reunion
was held at Seaforth Lions Park on
Wednesday, July 21, 1954. Over 120
people sat down to the supper table.
This was the largest attendance for
several years and was probably due
to the fine day. Some of the more
energetic people joined in a game of
ball after which Roy Pepper and his
committee conducted a full line of
sports. During the supper hour prizes
were given to the oldest member
present, Joseph Crich; youngest mem-
ber present, Elaine Carter.
Following supper the president,
Harry Crich, conducted the election
of officers for 1955 which are as
follows: Pres., Ross Trewartha; vice
pres., Laurie Crich; sec., Helen Turn-
er; Treas., Mrs. Frank Falconer;
Table Committee, Mrs. Elmer Towns-
end, Mrs. Harold Hugill, Mrs. Ross
Trewartha, Mrs. 011ie Cole, Mrs.
Arnold Hugill; Sports Committee,
Alden Crich, Elmer Townsend, Clay-
ton Martin, Archie Douglas. It was
decided to hold the 1955 picnic at
Seaforth Lions Park on the third

HENSALL
A cue -armed Hensell truck driver
was rescued from drowning 'Tuesday
after his truck loaded with loge crash-
ed through a wooden bridge and land-
ed upside down in three feet of water
to Nine Mile River about five miles
north. or Luc:know. With water only
about eight itches from the top of the
cab, driver George Beer managed to
stick his head out the window above
the water until help came.
His companion, Douglas Dick, Hen-
sall, who had got out of the truck to
guide the heavily -loaded vehicle across
the narrow trestle bride, waded into
waist deep water and pulled Beer out,
