ALVA J. WALKER
Alva J. Walker, former funeral
director and furniture store business
man at Wingham, died Saturday
in the Wingham General Hospital.
He was (34. He had retired from busi-
ness in 1948 owing to ill health. He
was a native of Brussels, and a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Walk-
er. He was past master of the Ma-
sonic Lodge, No. 286, a member of
the I.O;O.F., the Loyal Orange
Lodge, former member of the Lions
Club, and a member of the Wingham
United Church. He had previously
Funeral Service Association. Surviv-
ing besides his wife, the former Olive
M. Chapman, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman, Sea -
forth, are four daughters, Mrs. N. A.
Moffitt, Toronto; Mrs. 1(fDr.) !Bruce
Fox, Guelph; Mrs. G. Galbraith,
Brussels, and Mr's. John Heal, Hen-
sail; five sisters Mrs, A. A. Flem-
ing, Windsor; fMrs. C. C. McIntyre,
Peterborough; Mrs. C. Devlin, Toron-
to; Mrs. W. J.-K.err, Toronto, and
Ml's. G. L. Baker, Parry Sound. Ser-
vice was held Tuesday from the
Wingham United Church with ser -
served on the P.U.C. and for several vice under the auspices of the Wing -
years was treasurer of the Ontario 1 ham Masonic Lodge.

IN 105TH YEAR
fire and Mrs, William IL Little of
Brantford, and - daughter Nancy,
were in Winnipeg dining the latter
part of June, and while there called
on John Hannah, a former resi-
dent of the Seaforth district, who
celebrated his 105th birthday in Oc-
tober. Mi', Hannah lives with his
dnnghter, Mrs. Sherry, at 202 Iary-
11u1d St, They found him looking very
well although somewhat hard of
hea1'ing hismemory seems very
good. Mr, Hannah went west in the
early 1900's and in recent years had
lived in Vancouver before ceiling to
Winnipeg.

Mr. Albert Ilamilton, Winnipeg, is
visiting with his brother, Mr. and
Mrs, Will Hamilton, and other rela-
tives and friends.
Messrs Oswald Walker and Alex
Gardiner have returned from a two
months' tour of the British Isles and
several European countries.
Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Gibson, List-
owel, were Sunday visitors with Mr.
and Mr's. IC. McKellar,
Sharon Grace Cadick, London, is
holidaying with her uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. John Wallace and fam-
ily,

Laehlan=Hoggarth families attended
the reunion in Queen's Park, Strat-
ford, on Saturday.
Cromarty Sunday School. picnic
was held in Lions Park, Seaforth, on
Monday.
Mrs. E. H, Payne, Moosejaw, is vis-
iting with her sister, Mrs. E. Temple-
man and Miss Margaret Miller and
her brother, Mr, James Miller.
