CONSTANCE
The S. S. anniversary of Con-
stance Church will be held on Sun-
day, June 27th at 2 o'clock. Special
music by Junior Choir. Guest speak-
er is Rev. Mr. Milroy of Egmondville.
The school and S. S. picnic will be
held on Tuesday, June 29th in the
afternoon at the Lions Park. Every
one welcome.
The WMS entertained on June 16
when they had four other societie
present. Mrs. Austin Dexter and Mrs
Peter Lindsay welcomed the guest
at the door. The President, Mrs. Ros
MacGregor, was in the chair. Meetin
opened with hymn 15, "For The Beau
ty of the Earth". Scripture lesso
was read by Mrs. Lorne Lawson

Brown led in prayer, after whic

received by Mrs, ;Chas. Riley and
Mrs. Lorne Lawson. Mrs. George Me -
Dwain and Helen favored with a duet
accompanied by Mrs. Bill Jewitt. The
number from Wesley Willis Church,
Clinton, was a duet given by Mrs.
Benson ;Sutter and Mrs. 'Wes. Hol-
land, accompanied by Mrs. Ray Vin-
cent. Another duet from .MoKiliop
Branch of First Church, .Seaforth
was given by Mrs. Jack ;Carter and
Mrs. John Thompson, accompanied
by Mrs. McGregor. Mrs. J. T. White
gave a very inspiring address on
"Come, Tarry and Go". Mrs. ;Mill -
son, in a few well chosen words,
thanked the guest speaker and those
taking part in the various numbers.
Hymn 249 was sung, "Jesus Shall
Reign", and Mrs. White pronounced
the benediction. Refreshments were
served.
Mrs. Martin Richmond of Kinder-
sley, Sask., and M . Charles Hall of
St. Marys visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Ross MacGregor, Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross MacGregor
were in Guelph on Saturday attend -
ng the Mackie -Angst wedding.
The many friends of Mrs. Charles

Evans -Connelly
Marjorie Ellen Connelly, ;daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Connelly,
R.R, 5, Mitchell, became the bride of
Mr, William Stephen Evans, Merrit-
ton, son of Mr. and Mrs, Frank Ev-
ans, Dublin, in a ceremony at St,
Bridget's Church, Logan, on Satur-
day, June 12, Rev. 3.F, Urbanski
officiated. Mrs. Thomas Connolly
was at the organ and accompanied
Mrs. Howard Court, Stratford, cou-
sin of the bride, as she sang Schu-
bert's 'Ave Maria' during the offer-
tory, and Miss Joan Evans, sister of
the bridegroom, singing 'Penis Ang-
elicus' as the bride placed a bouquet
on the Blessed Virgin's Altar, At the
signing of the register they sang in
duet "Mother, at your feet I'm kneel-
ing,"
The bride, given in marriage by
her father wore a strapless gown of
net over satin, with chantilly lace
Panels in the skirt and a lace jacket
with long fitted sleeves ending in
points over the hands. An imported
embroidered veil flowing from a tulle
bonnet -style headdress completed
her costume. She carried a white
prayer book topped with red rose-
buds with long streamers knotted
with Stephenotis. Miss Shirley Con-
nelly, the maid of honor, was frocked
in candy floss pink net over taffeta,
styled with a full skirt and chantilly
lace jacket. Her colonial nosegay
was of pale blue carnations. The
bridesmaids, Misses Maureen, Patri-
cia and ;Geraldine Connelly were
gowned alike in coronation blue net
over taffeta with matching boleros.
Pink carnations fashioned their co-
lonial nosegays. The bridegroom's at-
tendants were Mr. John Murray and
Mr. Frank Bruxer and the ushers
were Mr. John Cleary and Mr. Leon
Cassidy.
A wedding breakfast was served
at 'The Old Homestead' near Shake-
speare, followed by a reception at
the home of the bride's grandmother,
Mrs. William Connolly, where the
bride's mother received in a navy
linen suit, with navy and white ac-
cessories and a corsage of red roses.
She was assisted by Mrs, Evans in a
dress of navy and white sheer, with
matching accessories and a corsage
of pink roses.
For the wedding trip to Toronto,
Midland and other points North, the
bride changed to a cinnamon linen
suit, with beige accessories and a
corsage of yellow carnations. They
will reside at Merritton where Mr.
Evans is a member of Provincial Po-
lice detachment.

St. Joseph's Hospital, London, hav-
ing undergone an operation on his
foot.

Mr. and Mrs. John Nott of Londes-
boro are celebrating their Golden
Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday,
June 29th, and will be home to their
relatives and friends in the after-
noon and evening. We wish them

CROP REPORT
More farmers are putting in grass
silage than ever before in the 'Coun-
ty. A start has also been made at
haying, but weather conditions have
not been too ideal, All crops have
benefited from the swarm weather
and ample moisture. Fall wheat and
spring grains have made excellent
growth. Turnip seeding is almost
completed. Chemical spraying of
spring grains is the order of the day.
