The wind and rain storm which
passed over this section of the coun-
ty of Huron, played havoc with some
of the farm buildings, Bury Del-
bergue, of 16th of Grey tp. had his
•barn roof torn off, and it is also re-
ported ted some wooden silos were blown
tlpwn,
The June meeting of the Walton
group of the WMS and WA was held
at the home of Mrs. Silas Johnston
on Wednesday evening, The presi-I
dent, Mrs. Ronald Bennett opened
the meeting with hymn 480 after
which the Lord's Prayer was repeat-
ed in unison and Psalm 731 was read
responsively. The treasurer, Mrs.
('rank Kirkby gave the financial re-
port and the secretary's report was
given by Mrs. Fern Patterson, Mrs,
Frank Kirkby gave a splendid topic
on hymns and theh composers, Dur-
ing the business period final arrange-
ments were made for the Garden
Party to be held on June 23rd. The
meeting closed with hymn 288 and
the Mizpah Benediction repeated in
unison,
Following the meeting .hs. Don-
ald McNeil conducted several con-
tests. Lunch was served by Mrs. Si-
las Johnston and the following la-
dies: Mrs. William Bennett; Mrs.
Lloyd Porter, Miss Bessie Davidson
and Mrs. Fern Patterson.
The July meeting will be held at
the home of Mrs. M. Thomas on July

Mrs. Charles Fiford and son Mark
have just returned from a pleasant
visit with Mrs. Word's relatives in
London, England, and with Mr. J'if-
ord's relatives in Guernsey.
Mr. Ronald Passmore left last
week for Toronto where he will take
a course at Radio College.
Rebekah Lodge Clones For Sumner
Months
The last regular meeting of Am-
ber Rebekah Lodge 349 until Sep-
tember was held in the Lodge rooms
on Wednesday evening with Mrs,
Dorothy Parker N.G. in the chair.
Several "thank you" notes were read
from members for cards and treats
eleceived.
An inaugural meeting will be held
at Seaforth on Wednesday, June 30
to install the newly appointed DDP,
Mrs. Ann Henderson. The representa-
tives and Noble Grands of the lodge
are invited. The annual IOOF and
Rebekah picnic will be held at the
Lions Park, Seaforth, on Wednesday,
July 7th. The nomination for the of-
ficers for the fall term were as fol-
lows: Miss Mabelle Whiteman, Noble
Grand; Mrs. Bertha MacGregor, Vice
Grand; Mrs. Myrtle Orr, and Mrs.
Hazel McEwen, Recording (Secretary;
Mrs. Aldee Volland, Financial Secre-
tary; Mrs, Olga Chipchase, Treas.
Following the meeting a social
hour was enjoyed during which bingo
was played and refreshments served.
Mrs. Gladys Mitchell won the special
bingo prize and Mrs. Vera Smale,
the lucky cup prize.

Anniversary Assembly meeting of
Grande Lodge IOOF and Rebekahs
held in Toronto last week.

NOTICE
TOWN OF SEAFORTH
All persons in the Municipality owning or har-
boring dogs must purchase 1954 licenses for same on
or before June 30th, 1954. Licenses will be issued
from the Treasurer's Office in the Town Hall, or from
the Tax Collector, Harold Maloney.
After that date summonses through the Court
will be issued to the owners or harborers of dogs not
having licenses.
All dogs must wear license tags.
No dogs to be allowed to run at large.

Garrioch, Windsor, Miss Leola Nott,
Detroit, and four grandsons and two
granddaughters,
Mr. and Mrs. 'Nott were married et
the lionie of the bride's parents by
the late Rev, Dr, A, R. Cools.
Ml's. Nott is the former Alice Laur•
ena Dale, a daughter of "Mr, and Mrs.
William Dale, Tuckeremith, She is
the last survivor of a family'of three,

On Tuesday morning, 'March 2,
Birehton and vicinity were saddened
to learn of the death of one of their
highly esteemed and respected rest -
'dents, Rev, Albert Hinton, who
passed away very suddenly at his
home following a heart attack.
Mr, Minton was born in London,
England, in 1882. As a young man
he worked as it stonemason at Wind-
sor Castle, before coming to Canada
in 1907.
He was united in marriage to Lucy
Ricketts, who survives him. Of this
union four children were born, Mur-
iel, Mrs. Fraser Cliff, of Pointe
Erie'Claire, Enid, Mrs, 'rie (Richards,
ROAF., Chatham, T.B., and two
sons, Edward Hinton, of Edmonton,
Alta., and Stanley Hinton, of Sorel.
After corning to Canada Mr. Hin-
ton entered Wesleyan Theological
College in Montreal, where he grad-
uated in 19.15.. He started as a Metho-
dist minister in his first circuit at
Lakefield, Que., later serving at Gan-
anoque East, Ont., Rawdon, Cowans-
vilie, South Mountain, Ont„ and
Montreal, at the former Shaw Mem
•orial Church, From there he went to
the Lilly Memorial Church at Pointe
Claire late ` t Danville Claire, t z c and. to hip -
pen, Ont„ where he retired in .1952,
After retiring be came bo Birehton,
where he was stationed till Iris death.
As a younger roan Ms hobbies were
cycling and golf, and in later years
poetry and wood working. Special
mention should be made of the beau-
tiful .pulpit and communion , table
which he donated to the Birehton
(Church and• which Inc made and fin-
ished himself by hand, and for which
the Birehton congregation is grateful
and proud to have in his memory,
Mr. Hinton was a man of sterling
character, a kind husband and father,
and a good neighbor, who will be,
greatly missed in the community as
a minister and friend.
