members of our W.M.S., pray confid-
ently, sincerely, trustingly and un-
selfishly, and God will send upon us
and our work a wonderful blessing".

NEW DIRECTORIES NOW
IN SUSCRIBERS HANDS
It inay not be on any list of best-
sellers, it has no plot and little ac-
tion, but the new Bell Telephone dir-
ectory mailed to subscribers in Sea -
forth last week will have more read-
ers here than any book likely to ap-
pear this year.
With each copy of the green -cover-
ed directory goes a "bonus"—a small
"Blue Book of Telephone Numbers",
says W. W. Haysom, Bell manager
for this region, The "Blue Book" is
being issued to enable the subscriber
to compile a handy list of names, ad-
dresses and telephone numbers of
both local and out-of-town residents
he calls frequently.
"If a telephone user, in placing a
long distance call, gives the telephone
number, the call goes through in as
little as half the time it takes when
only the name and address are giv-
en", said Mr. Haysom. (`That is whY
we expect the keeping of personal
lists in the Blue Book to help stake
long distance service faster. By using
the book to record new or changed
local numbers, subscribers can elim-
irate needless calls to `Information'
too."
Included itt the new telephone
book are 0,098 new and changed list-
ings. Because of these changes, Mr.
Haysom urges subscribers to discard
their old books as soon as the new
ones reach them.
Reflecting the steady industrial,
comm ereial and residential growth
during the past year in the territory
served by the directory is the in-
crease in the number of copies being
walled, from 17,887 to 18,521.
