Mr. Andrew Dixon, Exeter, was
guest speaker at the annual meeting
of Tuckersmith Federation held in
Hensall Wednesday night Feb. 3. Mr.
Dixon spoke on the Ausable Conser-
vation Authority illustrated with
slides. The speaker told the meeting
of the various phases of Conserva-
tion and what the Authority was do -

ducted by the new president, a mo-
tion by Win. Rogerson, seconded by
Alex McGregor that Erlin Whitmore
and Glen Bell approach the Council
as to grant or 2.5 mills for Tucker -
smith Federation,

chairman. .Sandwiches, , doughnuts
and coffee were served, no . admis-
sion fee was charged and the enter-
tainment and lunch were free,.
The Tuckersmith Ladies' Club
held their February meeting at the
home ,of Mrs. Ed.Layton on Wed-
nesday, Feb. 3rd with 16.•rnernbers
and three visitors present. The meet-
ing opened with the Opening Ode
and the Lord's Prayer. This was fol-
lowed :by the singing of "The Little
Brown Church In the 'Vale." The roll
call was answered 'by "what you can
remember of your first meeting,"
Reports were then given and several
thankyou notes were read. Other it-
ems of business were discussed. The
prorgam consited of a reading by
Mrs, Mervyn Falconer, and three
contests conducted by Mrs. Bert
Garrett, Mrs, Bill Rogerson and Mrs.
Mervyn Falconer. The meeting was
closed with the Homemaker's Pray-
er. A delicious lunch was served by
the 'hostess and the members of
group No. 3.

KIPPEN
The February meeting of the W.M.
S. and W.A. wore held on Wednesday
afternoon at the home of Mrs. Robin
McAllister with Mrs. Russell Consitt
as co -hostess. Mrs. Emerson Kyle pre-
sided and opened the meeting with
hymn 488. Mrs. Carl McClinchey was
in charge of the worship reading John
12, verses 35 to 50. Silent prayer was
held in memory of Mrs. George E.
Thomson, followed by prayer by Mrs.
Kyle, Mrs, H. Caldwell reported she
and Mrs. McClinchey called on four
shut-ins. Mrs. Ralph Turner and Mrs.
John Anderson are the visiting com-
mittee for February. Mrs. McLeod and
Mrs. Ross Broadfoot favored with a
piano duet. Thirty members answered
the roll call and there were four visi-
tors, Mrs. J. W. McLean read four
thank -you cards, Mrs. McLeod gave a
very interesting talk on Christian ste-
wardship. Mrs. Kyle read a poem on
Smiles. Mrs. Allan Johnson gave the
study in the form of a play, assisted
by Mrs. R. M. Peck and Mrs, John
Sinclair, Mrs. Emerson Kyle offered to
donate a quilt top to be quilted by the
W.M.S. for supply work. The world's
day of prayer which will be held in
the church on March 5, was discuss-
ed, each member to bring a non
member. Mrs. Kyle extended a vote of
thanks to all taking part. A dainty
lunch was served by Circle No. 1.
BRODHAGEN
The monthly Ladies' Aid meeting
was held on Wednesday afternoon.
The meeting opened with the hymn
"Greenland. Icy Mountains" and
scripture reading, Matt. 28: 16-18 by
Mrs. Martin Dietz and also Romans
10: 8-17 by Mrs. Martin Diegel,
Prayer by Mrs, Martin Dietz and a
poem "On with the message" by
Mrs. Fred Young. The topic on Mis-
sions was given by Mrs. Rev. Becker.
Hymn "Christ for the world we
sing". The devotional part of the
program closed with the Lord's
Prayer. Mrs. Fred Young, the .pr•esi-
dent was in charge of the business.
Secretary and treasurer's reports
Were read, It was decided to send
envelopes to all women of the con-
gregation for a Lenten offering and
an offering to be taken every
month from the members at each
meeting to be used for Missions.
Birthdays were reported by Mrs, Ed
Seherbarth, Mrs. 1.1 Mogh, Mrs, Chas
Ahrens, Mrs. Aug Bauer, Mrs, Al-
i bert Bauer, Mrs. Clarence Regele. A
.hymn was sung in their honor. Lunch
was served and quilting resumed,

party in the church basement on
Friday evening.
