School Section No. 2, McKillop
Farm Forum, niet at the hone of
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Dolmage on
Monday evening 'of this week with
24 present. The Radio broadcast
was considered very good. Subject
under discussion: "Falling prices
grave problem for farmer". In an-
i swer to. question 1, What are scene
of the ways in which farmers in your
area might adjust to a period of un-
favorable prices? We say careful
spending, co-operative buying and
selling, and through the Federation,
make necessary adjustments on price
supports, repair machinery on hand,
in place of buying new, make more
use of good hay and pasture, and
buy less high price commercial feed.
In answer to question two, Is there
any need in your area for the fol-
lowing? A marketing eo-operative to
handle the sales of one or more pro-
ducts? We say that our present 'Co -
Op marketing facilities should be ex-
panded. A producersmarketing
board set up under provincial legis-
lation to regulate the sales of a
certain farm product? Two out of
three groups said we should have a
marketing board for eggs and milk,
while group No. 3 felt that a mark-
ting board offered too much in the
way of coahtpulsion, and favored a
Co-operative,
A purchasing co-operative to
serve. es a retail store for farm sup.
plies and other .goods? Yes, we say
a well-managed purchasing co-oper-
ative is needed. Following discussion
a social hour was spent in progres-
sive euchre. Winners: ladies, Mrs.
Sam Storey, Mrs. Robert McMillan
and Mrs. Walter Scott; Men, win-
ners, T. McMillan, Eph. Clark, Al-
vin Dodds. Next meeting will be at
