SERVE CANADA AND YOURSELF IN THE ARMY
Listen to "Voice of the Army"—Wednesday and Friday evenings over the Dominion Network
Stewart Collect. The roll call was
well answered by a homemade Christ-
mas gift, Two food parcels were to
be sent to our sister Institute in
England. An invitation to Clinton
Institute was brought in for Nov. 26
at 2 o'clock. Anyone wishing a ride
to this meeting contact Mrs. Alex
Pepper. A scholarship fund for Hur-
on County was discussed and the Sea -
forth Women's Institute voted in
favor of this fund. It was decided to
have a party on New Year's Eve.
Mrs, Crozier brought a report from
the District meeting at Hensall. Mrs.
Robert Doig then took this part of
the meeting over. Mrs. Livingstone
very ably took the motto "A man's
reach should exceed his grasp, or
what's a heaven for". Mrs. Andrew
Crozier and Mrs. John McGregor,
our delegates to the London Convert-
tion
onvention gave very interesting reports on
the convention. Mrs.Orval Storey en-
tertained by step dancing and doing
the Highland Fling, accompanied on
the piano by Mrs. Arnold Scott. This
was much enjoyed by all. Lunch was
served by the hostess and her help-
ers. The meeting closed with God
Save The Queen.

Mr. and Mrs, James McQuaid were
pleasantly surprised on Sat, even-
ing, Nov. 7th when their family, 1111 -
mediate relatives and neighbors came
to their home to help celebrate their
25th wedding anniversary. Cards
and dancing were enjoyed to the mu-
sic of the 'Delaney -McQuaid Orchest-
ra. At lunch time the bride and
groom of 25 years ago were called
to the centre of the diningroom and
the following address was read by the
bride's sister, Mrs. Albert Cronin and
presentation made of a chrome kitch-
en table and four chairs and a purse
of money. Mr. and Mrs. McQuaid
thanked their neighbors and family
for the gifts after which lunch was
served. Dancing was resumed and an
enjoyable evening was spent by all.
All left for home wishing the couple
many happy returns of the occasion.

TRAIL—BLAZERS
As Canadians push back the frontier —
- developing new areas, building new
enterprises — banking service still follows
the pioneer. Today, there are more bank
branches to meet the needs of changing,
growing Canada... they are
being used more... they are doing
more for more people... than ever before.
Since 1900, branohos of the chartered
banks have increased from 700 to 3,800.
In the past ten years alone, 3,750,000
bank accounts have been opened,
