Bears defeated Wingham Mustangs
by the score of 8'3-0. Doug Keys got
three touchdowns while Sandy Mc-
Millan, Bill Brock, and George Sills
each got one, Sandy McMillan suc-
cessfully completed 'three converts.
Ii the boys keep up their .present
pace we stand a good chance of
winning the pennant again this year.
Clinton defeated Wingham last
Wednesday 29-0 and will be playing
Seaforth at the Lion's Park on Wed,
Oct. 14. Both teams will be battling
'for first place

aign will be starting before long in•
school. The campaign captains are
Sandy McMillan, Jim Flannigan, Ken
Larone and Ray Henderson. Maga-
zine subscriptions and renewals will
be sold and the profits will be used
for a worthy cause in the school.
The Initiation Dance which was
held last Friday night was one of the
best yet. Some of the first formers
got cold feet and a bit wet but it
didn't seem to dampen their spirits.
The four "Young Gentlemen", who
are Peter Spittal, Ken Larone, San-
dy McMillan and Jim Flannigan, fa-
vored us with a couple of numbers.
SPORT SHORTS
This past week the Seaforth Gold-
en Bears came up with their second
straight victory as they clawed the
Wingham Mustangs 33-0. It is quite
evident that Seaforth will show some
of the best secondary school football
in the province. In their past two
games they have been coming up
with plays that show the signs of
still being champions, Next Wed. the
Bears tustle with Clinton Redmen,
classed as being strong opposition
This will definitely break the ice
for league leadership.
Don't look now but the 1958-54
hockey season is just around the
corner. It is expected that within the
next two weeks local juniors
will take to the ice. From all out-
looks it appears as if the coming
team should be as powerful as last
year's club, and should be able to
come up with some first class Ir. B
Hockey. This past week the Detroit
Red Wings handed across to coach
Ralph McFadden, a complete line
from the Red Wing farm camp in
Hamilton. It is hoped that the new-
comers will be able to add enough
strength to hold a place on their re-
gular roster.
