Mrs. Jack Simmons and children returned home after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Munn at Stoney Creek. Mr. and Mrs, Geo. Moir moved to the dwelling they purchased from the estate of the late Miss Barbara Forrest. Mr. and Mrs. James .Smith of Van eouver, B.C. are visiting with the former's mother, Mrs. Wm. Consitt. Miss Shirley Chapman, nurse -in - training at Victoria Hospital, Lon- don spent the weekend with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Chapman. I Mr. and Mrs, Barrett and daught- er, who spent the past two weeks holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Faber and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hyde, returned to their home at Yonkers, N.Y. They were accompanied home by Mrs. Barrett's mother, Mrs. Hyde who will spend two weeks visiting there. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Davidson of Port Colborne visited with friends here last, week. Master Ronald Schroeder returned home after spending a week with Mr. and Mrs. A. Storey at Delhi, Mr. and Mrs. Walker •Carlisle and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Koehler visited with relatives in London recently. Mrs. Eva Carlisle was a recent visitor with her daughter Mrs. J. Mrs. James McClure, W. A,. presi- dent, opened the meeting with the hymn "Rise up 0 men of God". Psalm 699 from the hyninaly was read responsively. Prayer was then offered by Mrs. J. M'eClure. Mrs. Wm. Dodds read a poem. Offering was received and response sung. Mrs. Gilbert Smith was leader of the devotional part on •Christian Stew- ardship. Hymn 500 was sung and psalm 27 was read. Personality, Time, Giving and Ability on Christ- ian Stewardship was ably taken by Mrs. G. Smith assisted by Mrs. H. Axtman, Mrs. J. Boyd, Jr., Mrs. L. Elliot, Mrs. Wm. Alexander, Mrs. Roy Patrick. Prayer was 'offered by Mrs. McDougall. A duet by- Mrs. G. Smith and Mrs. Gordon Blanshard. Hymn 350 was sung and Mrs. Smith closed the meeting with prayer, gifts of a hostess chair, end table and book -ends as well us many personal gifts. A delicious lunch,was served by several of the women, oA reception wee held in the Staffa ball for Mr. and Mrs, Hugh May when they were presented with. a Solis or stoney, Daneing was enjoyed, Leitch was served. Mr. and Mrs. May will reside in :London. HIBBERT The funeral service for Mrs. Mont- gomery Davis of Hibbert township. who died in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, was held on Tuesday at the Heath funeral home in Mitchell. Rev. George M. Lamont of Knox Presby- terian Church officiated, and burial was made in Ayr cemetery. The pall bearers were two nephews, Charles Robson and Roger Laurie, and Percy Smale, Albert Smale, Bert Fell and Wilbert Glanville, Friends were pre- sent from Ayr,.
