SEAFORTH JUNIOR FARMERS
The Seaforth Junior Institute and
the Seaforth Junior Farmers held
their August meeting at Bayfield on
the evening of August 5th in the
form of a weiner roast. A great num-
ber of the members were in attend-
ance with members of the County
Executive as guests,
Ronald McMichael, Pres. of the
County Junior Farmers brought
greetings from the county and
thanked Seaforth Juniors for their
kind invitation. The Assistant Agri-
cultural Representative, Mr. Ilarold
Baker also spoke to the members.
The evening came to a pleasant and
enjoyable ending by all attending a
dance,
All Junior Farmers should keep in
hind the County Church Service to
be held in Seaforth Presbyterian
Church on Sunday evening, Aug-
ust 16th.

Diane Rock and Elain Benneweis
are at Edgewood Lutheran Camp
near Guelph this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hasenflug,
Mrs, P. Resenting of Brunner, vis-
ited with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eg-
gert on Sunday.
The death took place at his home
at Dublin on Wednesday, August 12,
of Harold Tomlinson in his forty-
fourth year. He had been in poor
health for some time. Born at St.
Marys, he lived in McKillop near
Walton for some years, later moving
to London where he was married to
Miss Marie Burns who predeceased
him about eighteen months ago.
Surviving are two daughters. Anne
and Marion at house, and 2 sisters
and 2 brothers, Mrs. Howard Bearss
(Helen) of Science Hill; Mrs. Russel
Martin (Grace) of Glasnevin, Sask.,
Fred, of London and Jack of Flint,
Mich. He was predeceased by his
parents. In early life he had .been a
farmer and later a roofing contract-
or, corning to Dublin 7 years ago.
The funeral will take place from
the Box Funeral Honie, High Street,
Seaforth, at 9 A.M. on Friday, Aug.
14, to St. Patrick's Church, Dublin,
where Requiem High Masswill be
sung by Rev. J. B. Ffoulkes at 9:30
a.m. Interment will be in •St. Pat-
rick's Cemetery, Dublin.

The regular monthly meeting of
the W.M.S. of Walton United
Church was held in the basement of
the church on Thursday, Aug. 6th.
Mrs. Harvey Johnston was the pre-
siding officer for the meeting. The
meeting opened with singing of
hymn 383. Psalm 724 was read in
unison and was' followed by prayer.
The secretary's report was . given
and the roll call answered. Mrs.
Nelson Reid gave the treasurer's re-
port. At this point of the meeting,
Mrs. H. Kirkby read a letter from
Miss Clark, who is a missionary in
China, telling of her work which
Proved interesting to all in attend-
ance, The W.M.S. are snaking plans
to attend the Baby Band on August
21 from 3 to 5 o'clock. The business
part of the meeting consisted of
making plans for the fowl supper
which is to be held on October 21.
Margaret Stevens was named as
delegate to attend Alma College in
St. Thomas on Aug. 31 to Sept. 4th.
The topic of the meeting was tak-
en by the Boundary Group. Those
taking part were Mrs. H. Craig, Mrs.
C. rs. Roy Williamson,
Mrs. D. Ritchie,,Buchanan. The meeting
came to a close by the singing of
hyn'tn 252 followed by the benedic-
tion,
The fourth meeting of the Cran-
brook Garden Club was held at the
hone of Anse Steffler on Aug. 6 at
9;15 with eight members present,
The meeting opened •by the singing
of the "Institute Ode". The minutes
of the last meeting were read by
Helen Knight, The roll call was an-
swered by a "Vegetable from the
Garden". Anne Steffler, the assist-
ant loader gave us many helpful
hints on choosing vegetables for a
display, Plans were made for
achievement day and we decided to
have a skit on 1"Flowers in the
House", The meeting closets with
the singing of •the "Queen", A de-
licious lunch was served by our host-
ess and enjoyed by all.
